 Clear costs, vehicles in normal conditions without being excessive, fast in the process. I recommend full coverage to avoid battling scratches or slamming doors of other people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 2 visits - one was excellent service, very efficient and pleasant. Another was awkward . 2 different cars. Both sufficient. I found the moldy office difficult to sit in for long. A little as for staff to have to bear.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you are not local, stay away from this place. They do not honor advertised prices and try to extort extra charges for optional fees that can double your car rental. The actual company’s name is Bepensa, not National. The manager (Roberto Ceyas) does not follow National’s advertised policies. He is not trained properly; his only goal is to scam and defraud customers. After wasting two hours at National, I made a same-day reservation at a nearby Avis location and could not be happier with the service. Avis follows the rules to the point. Stay away from National in Merida, no matter what your elite status is.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The price displayed on the website and shown on the order confirmation doesn't include the mandatory insurance. Instead of being 1200 mxn for one day of rental, it ended up being 1700 mxn suddenly. Shady business practice, dark website design patterns. I refused to pay and didn't rent the car. Last time I deal with them.
The staff at the office was understanding and patient the whole time. They were professional. Not their fault.
Rent with velozrentacar. Contact them on WhatsApp. The price they share is competitive AND includes the mandatory insurance. No hidden fees. No bad surprise.
