New Especias - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

Out of 9 dinners we had in Cozumel, we ate here 3 times. We'd hoped to try more Mexican restaurants but the food here was too delicious. I would say the authentic Italian food here could compete with anywhere. The young lady that served us was great as well, personable and attentive, a great dining experience!

We had the parma ham pizza with rucola and the tagliatelle with shrimp, zuchini and cherry tomatoes. The pizza crust was very bad, more like frozen pizza. The tagliatelle had a good flavour, but overcooked. Overall, not authentic Italian food. On the plus size, the waitress was very kind and you get a complimentary wine and bruschetta.

Great meal from start to finish. Amazing Italian restaurant in Cozumel. Started with some aperol spritz, best I've had outside of Italy. Perfect ratio of all ingredients. The bruschetta was excellent, very flavorful tomatoes. We brought mahi mahi and barracuda we caught on a fishing trip and they prepared it for us. Started with barracuda steaks which they served fried per our request. Chef did two different styles, both Italian and Mexican style. The mahi mahi we had as both a pasta and sauteed with a garlic sauce. It was served with vegetables on the side as well which were delicious. All of it was outstanding, a true authentic Italian restaurant in Mexico. We came 45 minutes before closing (sorry) and we couldn't have had better service or food. Also the best wine list I've seen on the island, a nice mix of European, American and local wine. Took a tiramisu home and it was exceptional, done in the true Italian style. Can't say enough good things about our visit, a must eat if you enjoy Italian. Can't wait to go back. Thank you to our server and the chef.

An amazingly authentic Italian restaurant in Cozumel, all the way down to our Italian waiter Alessandro, who was absolutely amazing and made sure we had an amazing experience. The filet mignon was great and the kids loved the cheese pizza. Alessandro recommended a wine that was just perfect for us and the atmosphere truly made us feel like we were dining off the beaten path somewhere in Italy. Absolutely a must stop! ?

Authentic. So delicious. They made a vegan entree upon request and it was so good. Service is fantastic. Piña colada is great!

Excellent meal and service. I had the half tuna salad (which I had hoped would be rare and was overcooked but still fresh + tasty) to start and then the gnocchi entree in a light tomato sauce with cheese. I don't usually order gnocchi because it can be heavy but this dish was perfection. I sat on the top terrace and had beautiful views of the sunset. Service was also on point. Highly recommend if you are visiting Cozumel and want a break from Mexican cuisine.

We met the owner of this cute Italien Restaurant at Wet Wendy Bar and asked ourself " What Makes an Italien in Mexico"? The answer is: " Better Italien dishes than in Europe" ?????? The Food ist amazing, the Service excellente and friendly. If you stay in San Miguel you should not miss that place??and please try the "Spicy Espresso"!!!!
