Nirvana Dive Shop - 77600 San Miguel de Cozumel

I dove with the Nirvana Dive shop for 2 months and they are an absolute dream team. Socrates (the owner) and Caro (the dive instructor) are super knowledgeable not only about diving but also about the coral reefs. I learned so much from them! Caro has a great eye and is really great at spotting the wild life. They are super helpful, really fun, and make you feel really safe and cared for. It’s a small shop with a maximum of 6 people on each dive so if avoiding the crowd is what you are looking for this is the spot. I also did my advanced and rescue training with them, and would highly recommend them for continuing your dive training.

This was my first time diving in Cozumel and it was a fantastic experience! Socrates and Guillermo very friendly and extremely accommodating. Most dive shops go out to sea very early. I hadn't made have a reservation, I was staying in playa del carmen and didn't know if I would make it on time by ferry I called Nirvana dive shop and they waited for my arrival and made my dive in Cozumel possible. The water was crystal clear, we saw eagle rays, reef sharks, barracudas and much more. I highly recommend this shop and will definitely be returning to them next time I am in Cozumel!

We had an awesome time with Socrates and Barbara. They were very relaxed and gave us a good feeling. Me for the refreshing and my girlfriend for her first dive. We had two amazing dives and they made us feel very comfortable and safe. We highly recommend Nirvana, also for beginners. For us it was the perfect vibe. AMAZING EXPERIENCE. I completed my advanced open water certification and I had a blast. Felt completely safe and they were always available to answer all of my questions. They are a smaller shop and I had my own instructor - which is often unheard of for bigger shops. I’be recommended 3 other individual (who completed their open water certification) and they all loved the 1:1 instructor, trainee ratio. If you are shopping around, definitely check this place out and speak to Socrates.

Wonderful experience with Nirvana Dive Shop ! I got my Padi Open Water with them (never dived before), and it was perfect ! Socrates and all his team are really friendly and they know how to boost your confidence. We dived several times and we saw turtles, sharks, rays... and the big reef at 18 meters. So amazing ! I highly recommend to dive with them, and you will also eat guacamole and fruits between two dives. Just perfect !

Had an amazing dive with the scuba instructors, the introduction and the session were comfortable and fun! The instructors were very patient and keen in teaching the scuba dive! I would definitely come back to Nirvana dive shop to do more dives in the future! They took us at a really great spot in the middle of the ocean, got to see lovely fishes and marine life under water. Truly unforgettable experience. Suggestions for beginners, it’s good to learn to dive in a smaller group so that have instructors with you all the time. My instructors had 25 years of experience and they are comparatively cheaper than the other dive shops! They took me and my friend to the shallow beach side area to learn the instructions, and then deeper in the main ocean.

I had an amazing experience with Socrates and Barbara. I probably dive once a year and they were very kind to refresh some of my skills. Barbara was great at finding all kinds of cool marine life! Socrates runs a tight operation and has surrounded himself with a great team. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a personable and respectful dive shop - this should be your choice. A good team of respectful dive masters, delicious on board snacks and a very relaxed atmosphere. We dove with Carolin and she was amazing - such respect for surrounding world and a sharp eye for marine life. We were not rushed, were able to choose our dive sites and had smaller groups which made surface intervals really fun. Definitely recommend and will be back to dive with them again ?
