Omar's Sportfishing & tours - 71983 Puerto Escondido

Omar sports fishing was the highlight of my holiday in mexico! I met Ivan, my captain, early one morning and we headed out from a beautiful little beach frequented mostly buy local family's. The sun was rising, casting warm pink, orange and red hues across the calm glass like water surface and i already knew it was going to be a great day! Ivan and his deck hand was friendly and made me feel at home, the boat was clean, well maintained and very well equiped. Ivan obviously had an expanse of local knowledge and was constantly in contact with other skippers sharing there latest catch reports and even sharing dolphin and turtle sightings too. Within the first few hour i caught a one huge Mahi Mahi, one smaller one and to top it all off a couple hours later finished off with a decent size Marlin! As a beginner fisherman from england these were all dream species of mine, i had only ever seen previously online or tv. Ivan and his crew was very respectful to the beautiful fish and not one part went to waste. All fishes were filleted, cleaned and put into a cool box and at the end of the day we went back to a family ran beach front restaurant and eat all together with the Omar sport fishing team and family which was a really nice touch and actually one of the best, most authentic meals i had! As we made our way back towards land we were joined by a massive pod of dolphines, many of which were playing in the bow wake just infront of the boat and we saw many other marine species such as a pair of turtles mating. All in i had such a great time and i wouldn't hesitate for a second to recommend to a friend and i would love to head out into the ocean with Omar, ivan or the team next time i get a chance to visit mexico. 10/10 a life experience i will never forget

From start to finish one of the best experiences of my fishing life or actually my life!! Within 15 minutes of leaving harbour we were surrounded by thousands of dolphins playing with the boat and all around us. We then set the rigs for fishing and before 9am had a huge sailfish on the line (still surrounded by dolphins!!). As a fisherman it does not get any better than that! Once landed there was a celebratory jump into the sea to swim. We were also lucky enough to see whales up close, turtles and jumping manta rays. We were supposed to be on a fishing trip but it just became so much better than what any of us could ever have imagined. The biggest thanks must go to Ivan and Omar Junior whose professionalism, enthusiasm and humour made the experience fantastic. I really could not recommend this charter enough and will be returning again in the future. If in Puerto Escondido and looking to get out on the ocean for sightseeing or game then these are your guys. You won’t be left disappointed.. Thank you Ivan and Omar junior. See you soon.

Out guides were the best, so knowledgable and always found the wildlife first so people would try follow us! We saw all the animals mentioned; humpback whales, dolphins, turtles and rays. Could not reccomend them more ! A great morning

The whole day was magic , so much wildlife seen! All the guys involved in the company were so friendly and driven to make it a great experience for all . We were fully aware there is no guarantee to get a bite/ catch anything, but Ada and Little Shark hussled to make this happen! 2 beautys caught and cracking day all round . Thanks guys !

Whales, dolphins, sun...and catching amazing fish! What a perfect day! This team of fisherman are THE BEST! I have been lucky enough to have similar trips in different parts of the world and I know these guys are TOP NOTCH! If you are reading this debating on other crews in PXM, look no further! Book immediately. From the initial contact they were excellent!

Omar and his crew were knowledgeable, professional and friendly - we caught a sailfish and enjoyed a nice lunch after. This was by far the highlight of my trip. I’ll definitely be using him again next time I’m in Puerto Escondido.

Hands down one of the best experiences of my life. From pickup to drop-off, everyone we interacted with during our fishing charter was top notch. I would like to give a special shout out to our captain and first mate, both of whom went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. They were knowledgeable about the best fishing spots and went out of their way to make sure didn't come back shore without catching some monster fish. We fished, saw dolphins and whales and swam in the warm and beautiful Pacific. If you are looking to go fishing in Puerto Escondidio, use Omar and his team. They are simply the best!
