Origen Tulum - 77760 Tulum

This hotel is so charming and perfect for just one person or a couple! I wanted to stay right on the beach without breaking the bank and this was perfect for myself. I was able to walk everywhere, only 15 minutes from ahau. And it’s right next to lots of yummy restaurants and food trucks! It’s a super cute treehouse looking hotel with a gorgeous giant bed inside! Camilla manages the hotel and is sooo sweet. She helped me book a room right away when I walked up, and I asked her to book a room for my friends too. Amazing customer service, I’m so happy and stayed 4 nights. I recommend this for everyone traveling and wanting to stay on the beach under a budget :)

Very nice room, beautiful design, very clean, friendly staff. They clean the room daily, which is nice. They provide fresh towels and drinking water. WiFi works well, and the AC works from 8pm until the morning (time restriction due to jungle rules) The only 2 issues we had were with (1) parking: there is very limited number of spots, and they charged us extra for parking our car near the road on the first night. It took them a long time and was inconvenient to provide us with a spot. (2) shower: scalding hot water only, no way to adjust temperature, not very good water pressure. Also keep in mind, there is no soundproof.

This hotel was a total waste of money, I was there 2 nights and the power went on and off both nights, extremely hot weather with no a/c with constantly interruptions of having no power, nobody warned us of having problems with power I am sure a lot of people will continue to complain about this place, staff is friendly but not too helpful they act like nothing happened, please take care of your guests they are there to relax and enjoy not to be suffering with those poor amenities. I will never step foot in that place and definitely will not recommend also this hotel has no access to the beach.

AC works from 8pm to 6am the heat is horrific! Mosquitos were horrible! Room was not clean … spider webs visible! Very limited parking place. No beach access! No privacy people can see into your room through windows. Bathroom window doesn’t have a lock and the door lock is very flimsy.Honestly was the worst 2 nights we spent in Tulum. Definitely not worth the price you pay! Other options are available in Tulum with much better amenities!

The room looked nice on the first sight but that was the only positive thing about this hotel. You can hear everything from the outside very loud and clear. We had to tell a group who partied in the backyard to please move to the beach because it was so loud. After we went to bed our neighbour guests arrived to their room (on top of ours). It sounded like they where in our room because we could hear every single step they took and everytime they would move something it would wake us up. In the Morning at 8:30 there was a Garden worker of the hotel outside of our room who started cutting the tree with a really loud saw. In total that was the worst night in a hotel since years for us and I am sleeping in hotels every week for work. The AC is only working from 8pm-6am which makes the room extremely hot at daytime, there is no power plug next to the bed, the WiFi isnt strong enough for a zoom meeting, the outside of the hotel has a really bad smell (like a sewage plant). I highly recommend not to book this place !!!

Bad experience. First and foremost, air conditioner does not work even in hot weather, from 6 am till 8 pm. So if you want to come to the room and relax in hot afternoon after the beach you will NOT have ac working in your room !! Can you believe that ? There were other problems too. Wifi was very patchy almost disappearing at times and at best sketchy connection. They constantly tell you they are fixing it but it’s never excellent. Third, we found and killed two roaches in our room. It’s the jungle I guess but still. Fourth, the flush in the toilet is very poor so if you flush it once you have to wait half hour for flush to work again. Fifth, while the ac is not working, you’ll be feasted on by the very hungry mosquitoes and you’ll need a bug spray every 15 minutes to avoid a major blood donation. Finally, the sounds outside are indeed very loud. Overall, other than the cute looking room in photos and in reality, along with helpful and friendly staff that’s pretty helpless when it matters this place is a must avoid. Only take it if you’re ok with the cons I listed above. I’ll call you crazy if you do.

I’m writing this review because the mister Origin owner trying to tell not true. I’m a Roman wife and I have that bird fear, and this bird was enough inside to make mess on the top of the canopy (look at the picture mr Origin) it was terrible. Another cabin that they trying to move us was a just Home Depot plywood sealing! No jokes!! And there is no notes one phone type Expedia site about limited use AC (look at the uploaded pictures) Very bad experience!!!!! Highly not recommend!!!! Pictures was not match to real!!!

We went to the room and after 30 min we see or bird or bat on the sealing. My wife has a ornithophoby (she afraid the birds) it was really stressful for her. We had to leave from this hotel to another. Sorry but we was not expecting share our stay with anyone else even if it's a birds. And it was not refundable even with this situation. Make sure you aware that AC only work between 8pm and 6am
