The clerk tried several times to tell me my 200 peso was not enough for 59 pesos and to give her 590 pesos. She banked on me not knowing and finally just changed me the 59 pesos. This is not an uncommon scam in Tulum sadly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst service of any Oxxo I've shopped at. Checkout employee insisted I pay by card because she didn't have any small change. So I did pay by card (costing me extra). But she did have change for the customers behind me!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ OVERPRICED!! case of water is about 530 pesos Woman cashier didn't return the correct amount of money but when tried to dispute she wasn't budging. Terrible customer service

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had to stop for some groceries and sunscreen. It was well stocked and yet it seemed like the workers didn’t care about working or working hard. I stood by the sunscreen waiting for it to be open for about 3 mins. I asked for help from the lady and she just looked at me and proceeded to help the one person in line that came in right after I asked for help. She didn’t even give any indication that she would help me after. I had to ask again for the key and she finally opened it.

According to the other reviews it seems that’s a common thing here. They will try to rip you off so make sure to check the receipt and make sure they gave you the right amount of money back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would give zeros if possible. Just don’t do it. We did it for what we thought was convenience despite the reviews because being in another country. But just don’t. The worker shifted me 70 pesos and wouldnt give me the correct change after going back three times and until a local helped out. Honestly, she was probably trained to do so, cuz she didn’t look like she wanted to be apart of her own con.

also I don’t know what type of system they use to organize their shelves, but it seems like tossing everything everywhere in no particular order is what they tend to do.
Pretty certain we were ripped off $$ as well.
There are a few other local stores on the block if you search for it on foot… (they won’t show up on Google) Cheaper, better service, better selection. avoid this place at all costs
