Se avecindó en Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, México al estar huyendo de la justicia acusado del ilícito de traficar con esclavos. En el lugar construyó una hacienda que en la actualidad representa un atractivo turístico. Falleció en la ciudad de Mérida
You can visit the grave Fermín Antonio Mundaca y Marecheaga (Bermeo, 1825- Mérida (Mexico), 1880) was an explorer, mercenary and slave trader, of Basque origin. He settled in Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, Mexico when he was fleeing from justice accused of the crime of trafficking in slaves. In the place he built a farm that currently represents a tourist attraction. He died in the city of Mérida
