Nos quedamos en Parador Yaxunah por tres días, fue maravilloso. Aprendimos como cocinar puerco en horno pib y comimos varios platillos muy ricos. También visitamos la zona arqueológica de Yaxunah, tan cerca de Chichen Itzá pero es otro mundo - éramos las únicas personas ahi, y sentimos como si estuviéramos descubriendo los edificios en la selva - hay muchos edificios todavía cubiertos con arboles. Nuestra guía ahi fue Olga (de Parador) y aprendimos como la gente local están conectadas con la historia y fue una experiencia muy personal. Hay muchas cosas a hacer en Yaxunah. Por ejemplo fuimos en bici por la selva para descubrir mas cuevas y cenotes pequeños, y aprendimos de las propiedades medicinales de la jungla y las fábulas de los pájaros que viven ahi. Puede también nadar en el cenote solo a dos cuadros del Parador, y ver todos las talleres en el pueblo: producción de maíz, de miel, talleres de madera y cuerno. El mismo Parador es un lugar muy especial a cargo de mujeres de una colectiva muy agradables.

We stayed at Parador Yaxunah for three days, it was wonderful. We learned how to cook pork in the pib oven and we ate several very tasty dishes. We also visited the archaeological zone of Yaxunah, so close to Chichen Itza but it is another world - we were the only people there, and we felt as if we were discovering the buildings in the jungle - there are many buildings still covered with trees. Our guide there was Olga (from Parador) and we learned how local people are connected to history and it was a very personal experience. There are many things to do in Yaxunah. For example, we went by bike through the jungle to discover more caves and small cenotes, and we learned about the medicinal properties of the jungle and the fables of the birds that live there. You can also swim in the cenote just two blocks from the Parador, and see all the workshops in town: corn production, honey production, wood and horn workshops. The Parador itself is a very special place run by very nice women from a collective.
