Persia - 70934 Puerto Escondido

The few times I walked by Persia while in LA Punta, it was relatively empty. Meanwhile, other restaurants were slammed during the dinner rush. My friends and I sat down at another restaurant and waited 20 minutes without having even our drink order taken. We decided to leave and go to Persia - there was no wait for a table. I'm glad we did, because we ate an AMAZING meal for half the price, had impeccable service, and the MUSIC they play here is so epic ? I highly recommend eating here!

Such a nice family I feel bad leaving a poor review but the food is truly lacking any flavor here. The price is very high for Puerto but I’m happy to pay more for good food… however, the portions here aren’t super generous and overall the food is just so bland. Not authentic Persian food at all. No use of herbs, spices, or flavor in our meal. Bland chicken with no seasoning. Salad wasn’t middle eastern at all - was iceberg lettuce, cucumber, and carrot tossed in a bland mayo sauce - no herbs or spices? Chicken kabob was tender but the grill wasn’t hot and it got no char at all. Hummus was awful… it tasted like they dumped pre-made jar Indian curry powder in it. No remnants of garlic, lemon, parsley, or tahini… Seems very strange to me, I think the family is Persian I’m surprised they’re happy with the outcome. Flour Mexican tortillas for pita bread… come on - pita is so easy to make! The service is good and they are super sweet though - I wish they would spice it up. I was a chef at a middle eastern restaurant for 7 years in Detroit, I’m super disappointed in this, would be nice to have a good Persian joint in Puerto…

Great food , in Germany we say: s’geil! I feels like the living room from the owner, she is Persian. you can watch her husband standing on the grill and prepare your food. The staff is so friendly and smiles all the time. The only “but”: food takes long time and the portions are quite small, so order rice or extra bread! It’s worth the wait:)

this place is honestly amazing. white dude cooking the meats and vej over the fire knows what hes doing! that man is on to something. amazing vibes, servers are great, and food is probably the best i had in puerto. highly recommend!

What a surprise! Amazing typical Persian food. Delicious and great service. They have saffron ice cream a must after dinner. Highly recommended. It’s a good change for one day from Mexican food.

Amazing falafel (!) dishes; really got my cravings fixed. Also nicely decorated spot with lounge, where you can look right into the open kitchen. Portions were not very big, but reasonable for the price. Would recommend!

You can see and taste it directly, great importance is attached to quality here! We had dinner at Persia last night and it was fantastic in every way. The food was very authentic and incredibly delicious, just like mom made! Little Persia in the middle of Mexico. The owners themselves prepare the dishes. The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and extremely cozy. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. We will come back in any case!

Ate there last night. Loved the food. Chicken so tender it fell off the bones. Great flavor. Drinks were on point. love that skewers are cooked on an open fire where guests can see great touch. The gentleman cooking the skewers seemed to cook them with care. The ambiance was lovely and chill tribal/house/trance music was playing. We received our food quite quickly but when the restaurant started filling up it was a little slow to get our bill. Didn't bother us though. Its a nice place to hang out and the staff was friendly and greatful. Would return and recommend.
