Plank Gourmet Grill & Patio Bar - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Really nice place not directly on 5th Ave but off one of the side streets, which makes it a little more low key and chill, a bit romantic actually. Great service. I had the scallop/pork belly small plate, and Himalayan shrimp, both were excellent. The shrimp came on this gigantic block of pink Himalayan sea salt, hence the name. Very unique, very cool presentation. Definitely would go back and recommend.

By far our fave place to eat in Playa Del Carmen. The drinks were perfect…a spicy margarita! Our appetizer and dinner were outstanding. The staff was so accommodating & the evening was topped off with a sexy jazz band playing excellent music! We’ll definitely be back and recommend this restaurant highly.

Had dinner at this restaurant , very disappointed, very small tiny portions not fresh food , we took humus for appetizers - was literally 1 table spoon a of humus and old not fresh pita bread only 4 tiny peaces , main course was grilled chicken breast - was very small portions = 3 small peaces with 1 table spoon of sweet potato mash-potato , that was literally just 1 tablespoon not fresh, was spoiled also . We left hungry and disappointed, will never come back . If you want to spent 50-70 $ for not even normal size portions and not fresh food . This was RIP OF !!

Our cheese board looked amazing but we had a hard time enjoying ourselves because someone who apparently is a regular at the restaurant had left their dogs on the street (one off leash and one tied to a post) and they kept barking for him and scaring passerbys and store owners who had to walk past them. Rather than saying something to the guy, the employees brought the dogs water and tried to tell people they were friendly. We tried to ask the manager to say something to the owner who was sitting in the restaurant but he said he couldn't. Constant barking doesn't make for a great atmosphere.

We were a party of three the service was friendly and super. We started with tuna tartar that was delicious, the tuna almost melted in your mouth. Unfortunately the rest of food we ordered was not as good. I had short rib that was super tender, but lack flavor. My brother had the seafood pasta Nero that was too al dente, the pasta portion was really small and the flavors were lacking. Thirdly, my girlfriend had a Lobster that she enjoyed it although according to her it wasn’t as good as previous experience with the crustacean.

Great service and food! The cheeseboard was delicious, margaritas were oh-so-tasty (I only had one, hubby had two), and the food (mixed veggies, asparagus, Parmesan fries, octopus, and ribeye were finger licking good.

Me and my partner came here for Valentines Day this year… the food was brilliant. Very nice cut of steak, Very good Mac & Cheese, Very nice fries! Only thing is it WASNT hot enough. It was basically cold unfortunately. Service was kinda slow. I really hope they increase the temperature of their dishes.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Plank and it was a wonderful experience. We were served by the beautiful Fernanda who started us off with a Smoked Old Fashioned and Smoked Negroni. By the end of the night we ordered two more rounds and were ready to salsa dance the night away. We ordered the Salmon Gravlax and Scallops & Pork Belly for starters, and both dishes were melt in your mouth delicious. Our mains were the Mixed Grill, Fettuccine Seafood. Mixed Vegetables, and Mashed Potatoes. Again, each dish was prepared exactly to our liking and danced on our flavor palates. Our wait between dishes was approximately 30 minutes, but I had already done my research and knew that Plank prioritizes the dining quality and experience over speed, unlike many restaurants in the United States. We were too full for dessert, but we eagerly look forward to patronizing Plank again on our next trip to Playa Del Carmen.
