Playa 55 beach escape - 97367 Celestún

This place was amazing! The owners are super friendly and helpful. Gated parking lot, big pool, Very clean and elegant rooms with good amenities they even have a hammock to lounge in. Me and my fiance stayed on the 3rd floor and had a great view of the beautiful beach. There's roof access also if you wanna get a better view. Its within walking distance of some really good restaurants and shops. I'd definitely recommend this place perfect place get away and relax.

Beautiful hotel with a beautiful beachfront. The rooms are a little pricey for Mexico but definitely worth your money! The rooms are cozy and feel personal, with hammock hooks in the walls! Nico and Jess, our hosts, are the nicest and coolest people you could hope to meet and are so helpful and generous. This was one of the highlights of our trip! We hope to come back in a few years!

Pictures do not do this place justice. I reserved this spot off of booking.com and was very confused why it was as expensive as it was. The photos didn’t make it look all that special but it was the highest rated on the site with availablity so we took the chance as we booked it so last minute. Once we drove up, our mouths dropped. This place is gorgeous! You instantly feel so relaxed and welcomed. The grounds are pristine. The decor is really nice and the amenities were unexpected! There’s a lovely fire pit with a circular bench. A gorgeous pool beautifully designed. Hammocks and beach chairs throughout with plenty for all 9 rooms on the property. And a great roof top! We were met by Nico, the owner. He was very welcoming and gave us a tour of the property and showed us to our room. He was nice enough to answer all our questions about the town and gave great advice about places to eat and what to do. The room was really nice! Views looking out to the calm gorgeous green waters. A great private balcony with comfortable seating. A hammock inside the room for you to relax that is moveable. A really comfortable bed! Hot water! And complimentary drinks already cold in the fridge. Very thoughtful and unexpected. There’s also kayaks and paddle boards you can use for free on the property. It is paradise and I wish we could have stayed longer! We’ve been travelling the Yucatán for a few weeks now and this has been our favourite spot by far - the accomodation and the town! Totally worth it!

You literally have no reason to skip this beautiful and extremely comfortable beach paradise. The owners have crafted an amazingly cosy and warm design hotel with direct access to a private beach. The sunsets are stunning, the relaxed atmosphere even more so. The hosts are super kind and happily assist you in finding activities and restaurants around Celestun. Instead of going to the crowded and seaweed-loaded beaches of cancun, you should definitely enjoy this little gem at the beaches of Celestun.

Exceptional place by the beach. Very quiet. Perfect to relax away from the wild. Rooms are large and comfortable all with views on the sea. Nicolas, our host is very friendly and helpful. There are very good seafood restaurants 10 to 15' walking on the beach to get there. A feeling to stay at the end if the world .. tough it's only the end of Yucatan.

We really loved our stay in Playa 55. It's definitely one of the best places you can stay in Celestun. Location is amazing, right on the beach! The property super clean and perfectly put together. The hosts Nicolas and Jess went above and beyond too, couldn't be nicer in recommending places to eat and things to see or just having a chat about all things Mexican. Would 100% recommend you stay here, believe me you won't regret it!

We loved staying at Playa 55. Jess and Nico made our stay even more welcome with their exceptional warmth. This place was the switch off we needed from the busy travel schedule and it offers access to a very beautiful beach. The rooms are very large and are very comfortable, not to mention the exceptional views. If you stay at the lower floor rooms, then you can just walk to the beach which will be right in front of you. There is no food served on the property but they do offer coffee so you can make your morning brews while enjoying the view. Jess and Nico provide a very good list for the area with restaurants and activities. If we are ever in Yucatan again, we will definitely spend a few days here again.
