My husband is a Mexican citizen from Oaxaca and he was disappointed too. I had the ribs (costilla) which had two tiny bites of meat on one bone. The other bone was all fat. The third bone was just a bone. It was in a very small bowl of broth that was just ok. I sent it back and asked for chiliquiles. They were ok. My cafe de olla was almost cold. The appetizers were basic. A big disappointment. A bit of a drive out of the city but we like adventures. We found many things to do in neighboring cities so the day was not lost. From 10am to 1 it is a different menu. After 1 they serve Birria which I would hope is better. Oh and the pan dulce was good.

A tasting menu of around 8 dishes with generous portions for about $400 pesos per person. My partner and I left very full and satisfied. Delicious, local ingredients and dishes. Incredible quality and quantity, especially for the price. We also tried their house mezcals which were smooth, flavorful, and delicious. (Not included in the price, around $80 pesos per cup.) Wish I would have taken pictures but I was too busy enjoying the food. Ambiance and service were also great. We text through WhatsApp to make reservations the day before although I'm not sure if this is required. Overall, highly recommend!

They are certified organic growers. If you don't mind the smell farms have then you should go. It doesn't smell at the restaurant. A little bit of flies as it is open air. Extremely reasonable prices for a tasting of different traditional foods. The best part us you can repeat any tasting as many times as you want. Freshly made not buffet style. Very very attentive waiters. Great drinks! They are purveyors to very high end restaurants in Oaxaca city. Washrooms are impecable, but don't expect seats on the toilets. This is very common in most of Mexico. Great hiking paths and a tour of the farm is included. Bring your own translator. Farm hands do the tour. Excellent COVID protocols. You can even buy a rabbit.
