Posada del Arquitecto - 70946 Mazunte

The place is magical and has great looking rooms. The reason I'm writing this review is because we are currently here and the only reason we booked it is because we are 4 people and we were looking to cook our meals but, it's impossible. What they provide to cook is good for 1 to 2 people max (the cabaña is for 6 people). So if you don't want to cook and don't mind paying the high rate then it's a great place for you.

Great place to stay in Mazunte. We stayed at “Domingo” and the view was beautiful.

Probably the most noisy hotel in town, really unbearable, noise the whole day until very late at night, the rooms are very nice and clean but the people working were also not very friendly. We were traveling with a 4yo kid and they gave us the most noisy room without letting us know about it, we had a terrible night and they didn't care much when we tell them next day. We needed to move to another place next day in order to find some peace.

We stayed in the room called ‘Domingo’. The room has an incredible view but it was impossible to sleep because of all the noise. Domingo is located above the biggest room of the posada which means that it is rentes out to large groups. In our case there was a group partying for two nights. It is bizar that we received several mails with 100 rules about noise and sound but that the posada does not do anything to make sure that these rules are being followed. Only if you complain, they do something about it. We had to go down two nights in a row to the reception and complain about the noise. Instead of the staff of the posada pro-actively checking, we had to play police officers ourselves. The person behind the reception who was doing the check-in was not friendly or welcoming, the person who was cleaning our room was very friendly and kind. If you are not looking for a quiet place then this is a good place to stay because of the view and location.

The food at this place is kinda terrible. I mean for Mexican standards is quite bad, doesn't make any sense with the price relation either. However it is very confortable, the design is beautiful and the view is really nice.

I'm always staying in dorms but here I moved after one night. One of the worst hostels I stayed so far. Smelly, staff extra unfriendly, beds to short and uncomfortable. I think they just hate people. They made us wait for a long time, gave us no sheets, toilets were locked, the employee at the reception is too lazy for everything. Girl, you really have the wrong job .... Better book another place, like a tent or a hammock or something like that.

The room/ Cabaña is nice, but on top of a cafe (where u can get nice coffee and breakfast), but so its pretty loud- anyway you hear also the waves of the ocean pretty loud?? you have to be used to it to sleep deeply I think. Staff is nice but What is really horrible, are the sharing showers and toilets. I rather prefer the Cafe toilets than using the bathrooms there. I saw nicer public toilets.

Amazing place to stay in Mazunte, everything is clean and well taken care of, plenty of plug ins in the restaurant area, so it's perfect if you have to work on the computer or need to charge your phone. Water refills for 5 pesos, great food n lovely people working here. Edit: changed room after a few days and it was unbearably noisy, some construction was going on at the Posada starting at 7am every morning continuing all throughout the day. On the other side was loud music every night. We eventually changed to a different place cos we simply didn't get any rest/sleep
