About Quinta Maria Cortez

Quinta Maria Cortez & Casa Tres Vidas is a beautifully appointed boutique hotel located directly on the beach at the South end of Puerto Vallarta. We offer luxurious accommodations ranging from one-bedroom suites to three and four-bedroom villas that can be configured to conform to our guests specific requirements. Our unique property is comprised of two connected buildings: Quinta Maria Cortez “QMC” and Casa Tres Vidas “CTV”. QMC offers seven large 1 & 2 bedroom open-air suites (with kitchenettes) on eight different levels and is best utilized for romantic get-a-ways, honeymoons, etc. A delicious cooked to order breakfast in a palapa covered ocean front dining room is available six days a week and is included in the rate. Casa Tres Vidas “CTV” offers three beachfront villas (3 & 4 bedrooms each) that can be combined to create 6, 7 and even 10 bedroom villas that are great for groups of friends, co-workers or families. Each villa has its own living room, dining room, private pool and heated Jacuzzi, located on either two or three levels and comes fully staffed with a gourmet chef, butler and maid. Your private chef is included in the rate and will prepare two meals per day for your group, charging only for the actual food costs. For large groups and functions, QMC and CTV can be combined to comfortably host up to 80 guests for special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries and milestone birthdays. Our on-site room accommodations can be configured to lodge up to 44 guests at a time.

We have equipped our villas/suites with all the amenities that will make your stay with us as pleasant as possible: direct dial phones that let you stay in touch with the outside world, ceiling fans in all rooms, adjustable air conditioning in most suites, big fluffy towels for a fun day on the beach and imported soaps and shampoos. Comfortable cotton bathrobes and electric hairdryers help you get ready for dinner in style; and in-room safes protect your passport and crown jewels. (By the way, the electricity in Mexico is 120 volts, which means North American laptops and electric razors work just fine.)  Free WI-FI and internet is available throughout the Villa.

My husband and I stayed at the Quinta Maria Cortez and it was the best decision. The stay was absolutely perfect. The architecture alone speaks to you. The ocean view room was amazing. The staff was the best. We will definitely stay again.

We stayed in the Ocean front Guadalupe Suite. It’s literally right on the ocean with access to the sand from your balcony which is why we chose the room. The entire staff is absolutely amazing especially Giovanni— they pay attention to every detail for you. The beach the hotel sits on is very private and most times we were the only ones out there. The staff has beach beds and umbrellas put out for you and you can order drinks and snacks beachside. The menu throughout the day is small but the made to order breakfast is amazing, had the Huevos Rancheros three days straight and still not over it! There is also two restaurants walking distance on the beach, La Playitas was our favorite and Le Set is also next to La Playitas. Would definitely stay again!

Overall, I really enjoyed the Quinta! Several of the shared spaces were decorated fabulously (think old world Mexican antiques). Love the 1600’s vibe of the hotel. The ocean views amazing. Staff incredibly kind. Complimentary breakfast was the same daily but still delicious and plentiful (choose the Huevos Rancheros and fresh fruit!!!) Coffee excellent. Bed and linens were impeccable. Enjoyed having lit candles in the room. I would agree that folks who find climbing lots of stairs painful or hard likely will not enjoy their experience, but I used the climbs as a great way to work my thighs. Wearing a bikini after all. The website states you can arrange a ride from the airport, which is no longer true and they need to update. There are a couple updates they could do that would elevate the hotel, including replacing or painting the rusting light sconces.

Absolute gem of a place. Waking up to this view every day is the best way to start each day in Puerto Vallarta. Enjoying it with evening cocktails isn't too bad either. All the staff were fantastic, breakfast was fantastic, and the beach was fantastic. We'd be back here in a heartbeat and would recommend to any friends, family, or strangers visiting Puerto Vallarta.

Staying at the Quinta Maria was such a treat. The staff were attentive, the breakfast was delicious, and the views were wonderful. Everything about this quaint little hotel made our trip to Mexico so relaxing and enjoyable. My only complaint about the Rafael suite is there is no privacy when using the toilet. There are several bathrooms separate from the suites where you can use the restroom. Highly recommend and would stay again!

We stayed 7 nights at this beautiful hotel and had a great experience. It is in a quieter part of town, which was nice. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have a comfortable stay. The complimentary made to order breakfast is delicious! Would definitely recommend staying here!

Hotel Quinta Maria Cortez is nothing short of magical. The entire experience is sublime. First, the design of the inn and the rooms is spectacular. Heavily influenced by Mexican design and artifacts, as well as other influences (like, Roman columns), each room has its own personality. The common areas are well appointed and complete the package. The design is classical, not modern yet each room has every modern amenity you want. In terms of amenities, there was nothing lacking: - Daily breakfast made to order - Butler-like service available all day (until 8pm) - Menu of food, drinks and wines available all day, including on the beach - Kitchenette including coffee maker toaster oven fridge and blender - Air conditioning, ceiling fans - Luxe rain shower and soaking tub - Plunge pool on premises, Massage available Direct access to a fairly secluded beach is a hallmark of this hotel. The beach in front of Hotel QMC is spectacular, and is perfect if you prefer not to be packed in with others (as with at the “chairs” resorts down the beach). There are some craggy rock formations, which provide privacy, with smooth sand between allowing for swimming and access to the water beyond. Snorkeling can be done just off the beach, and sunrises and sunsets are amazing. And drinks available all day, just call and order! The service at this hotel is five star. From Sara the service manager, to housekeeping, breakfast staff, and butler/security staff everyone is incredibly friendly, accommodating and service oriented; and make you feel like family. We had breakfast one morning with one of the hotel owners (who is also a frequent guest) who was charming and told us about the history of the hotel and some of the characters and urban legends of Puerto Vallarta. There is a menu of food and drink items (including bottles of wine) which can be delivered to your suite, the beach or anywhere on the property - and are just a phone call away. There is an Oxxo convenience store a 5 minute walk from the Inn. A few things worth noting, which may make this property not right for you: The Inn is built into the side of a cliff, you enter on the top level and rooms are spread over 4 or 5 levels all connected by stairs, if you have difficulty with stairs or mobility this it not the right place for you. They do have a plunge pool, but not a big resort-style pool. It’s all about the beach. The Inn is located in the affluent area known as Playa Conchas Chinas. It is a 15 minute walk to the Malecon, or a 10 minute cab ride. Cab ride is 70-100 pesos, so not really a financial issue but might be a convenience issue for some. All told, this is an ideal place if you want to split your experience between luxurious quiet beach time, and the buzz of in-town time. We can’t wait to go back!
