I do not recommend renting from here at all. The price seems good, but then when I got there, because I booked insurance through a third party sight, they wanted a $7000 deposit! For a $250 rental! Or if I got insurance through them it was $200 plus still a $1000 deposit. Ridiculous; when every other place has a $200 maximum. Better to get a rental car at the airport there are so many people offering great great deals

Service was ok, cars were run down. I can recommend but I would say come and Choose your insurance package here, we had issues with the insurance after booking online.

Given bad experience with car rental companies in Cancun everytime we have been here i can say this was the best experience we have ever had! Jose Luis was very helpful especially because our reservation was made with booking.com and they hadn't provided them with any information about us so they didn’t have a automatic car for us. Jose helped resolve the issue immediately and the process was very fast and easy. Even upon returning the car it was a very smooth process. Highly recommend this company!

If you need a car, rent from this place. We have gotten ripped off in the past by other car rental companies quoting us one price online and then requiring additional insurance worth $500 extra when we get to the counter. When we got to America car rental company, Jose Luis took care of us. He is awesome. He was able to get us a great car at a great price, with no hidden costs and insurance included. I knew I was getting the best price from him. Also, he made the process so painless and easy, was easy to talk to, and even gave his number which we used when we needed a shuttle to the airport. He was able to get us a great deal on that as well!

The only reliable car rental company in Cancun-Tulum area! And I’ve tried many I have been using America car rental for more than a year now, at multiple occasions, and they have always been professional, reliable and undoubtedly the most economical. Gladys, the manager of the branch, has always managed to accommodate my requests , despite short notice. I always have my car waiting for me at Cancun airport, with the specs that I ask for. Efficient service, good cars, good prices, friendly staff, Gladys managed to make me a regular customer of America Car rental. I don’t even check other places nor try to compare prices because I know I’ll get the best deal here. I have been recommending America Car to all my friends and they also all had the best experience there.

A Tulum resident and American expat recommended this agency for our 2 week rental this May. I did not feel like we encountered any hidden fees with the rental, and the full coverage insurance to cover any incidental damage was a fair price and seemed practical when driving the streets of Tulum. Jose Luís and Diego helped us with our 2 week Jeep 4WD rental. On our first day Jose Luís made pick up in Tulum very smooth. He took his time to explain the traffic rules and how to handle any adverse events we might encounter while in Mexico. The car was washed right before we took it over with a full tank of gas and everything worked well inside. Having this type of car was great for the unpaved roads around Tulum. But here's the best part! When we initially made the rental reservation we did not intend to leave the Mexican border but we came up with this great road trip plan to go down to Belize City and snorkel off the cayes of Ambergris and Caulker (to see Hol Chan, the Great Blue Hole, Shark Ray Alley). Jose Luís and Diego made it happen! They swapped out our gray Jeep with Mexican plates for a red one with Belizean and Mexican plates after just a few days and provided all of the paperwork that we would need for the land border crossing. They even made sure it was fully serviced up in Cancun and showed us how to change the Jeep tires before the swap. We had such a great time driving through the farmland in the north of Belize and the peace of mind knowing that the car was in good shape on some highways very much still under construction. Thank you both for everything!

After checking several car rentals in Tulum, I had a chat with Diego from the Car Rental. Such a kind a good person. He gave me his what’s App number and we weren’t ready to decide yet. After checking two more stations, I came back and rented our car with Diego. He brought us the car we wanted and all went perfect. The car was new and clean. Of course the cars in Mexico have some scratches here and there but we all figured it out and added it to the papers. We also had some trouble with our credit card and they helped us also with it. Even on the day of the return I asked Diego for some advice and he responded very quickly. Afterall all I can say is that my wife and I was very pleased with the service and of course with our Diego. I have consistently had the best experience with this company! They have never tried to rip me off or claim car damage that wasn’t mine - I have heard horror stories about other companies. Jose Luis is very helpful, honest and professional. I’m really grateful for the number of times he’s gone out of his way to help me with my rentals - which is another reason I keep returning to this company. In total I’ve rented cars from this company for about 3.5 months across the span of 2021 and 2022. Thanks again for being a reliable company!
