Great food and ambiance. They had local dancers put on a show in the evening.

Old school classic charm. Come here for their pollo mole. It's so tasty

Typical chiapaneco food. We tried quesadillas with cochito and the typical drinks, tazcalate and pozol. The waiters are very attentive and dressed in folk traditional dresses. Nice place to dine at in San Cristobal de las Casas.

Fogon de Jovel will offer a regional dish prepared with the traditional techniques and recipes from Chiapas, specially the local "mole" with rice it's something unique that you can enjoy with hand made tortillas surrounded by an environment. Live music and waiters wearing their own clothes is part of the charm of this restaurant.

If you’re looking for a typical chiapanese food this is not a good place to enjoy it, is too expensive for the quality, service is not good, if you want to taste typical regional food any other restaurant could offer you better taste for less money

It’s a great location, with great atmosphere, if you go at lunch or dinner time there’s live traditions music playing. The food is good but on the expensive side compared to other places. However you can find very traditional dishes and vegetarian ones, as well, which is always a plus. You can tell that it’s a spot made for tourists but because of that, I’m sure that quality and service is always good.

We went to this restaurant recommended by the hotel we were staying at, but only the orchata was ok. Everything else tasted super sweet, bland or was just poorly cooked. I ordered a chicken that was supposedly chicken breast and I specifically told them that I wanted chicken breast, but when it arrived, it had bones in it and it was extremely dry. The ambience was nice with the typical marimba and music, but service and food left us disappointed.

I felt it was just like a tourist trap. The service was great and they did nice decorations but the food was pretty average; not flavorful. I got the pollo pipián and my friend got the grilled meat plate. He said he just liked the cheese that came with it. The sopa del pan was ok. The instruments for the live music seemed really out of tune so it was more of a nuisance to hear it and have to pay a tip for it.
