This place is very beautiful, the patio of a town house, surrounded by trees, comal, kitchen of those intoxicating aromas, it is from the traditional Oaxacan cuisine, take your time and come and enjoy a milk chocolate, coffee, fresh water, and the most delicious entomatadss dishes enfrijoladas tlayudas with jerky cecina chorico and the traditional bread is not far behind

This day we went for a walk in the morning and walking through the center of Huayapam one block from the municipal market, you find this wonderful place, in which you will find the richest flavors of Oaxacan cuisine, chocolate atole champurrado milk chocolate, accompanied of traditional wood-fired oven bread, as well as the different dishes enfrijoladas entomatadas memelas you can also accompany your food with fresh water

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lovely rustic family restaurant with delicious traditional food and an incomparable dining atmosphere. The intersecting branches of two large, ancient rosital trees form a lush canopy over the garden seating area, creating an oasis-like environment beneath the shade. The tlayudas are some of the best I've tried in all Oaxaca, the platter of shrimp was perfectly seasoned and the consomé de barbacoa was thick and rich with chunks of meat and vegetables, much heartier than any consomé I've had elsewhere. La casa de la abuela is not only worth the visit, but merits taking your time over a long and luxurious meal and learning about the rich history contained there.
