This place was wonderful! The first evening they arranged for an official tour guide to meet us at a batcave about 20 minutes away, where millions of bats come out in the evening. It was like watching a tornado of bats! Linda, the owner, has a true passion for the history of the ruins and the region. Many of the ruins were closed due to covid, but the ones that we got to see were really great. The food here was absolutely delicious and was one of the reasons why I chose to stay here. There were wonderful breakfasts and dinners at our special table amongst the tall bamboo, and they packed lunches for our adventure at the ruins. They even were mindful to put the lunches in cooler with frozen water bottles, so they would still be fresh when we were ready to eat. When reading the past reviews, I was a little bit worried because people had negative things to said. Like that there were bugs... in the jungle. This was the sixth place that I stayed during the trip and it had the least amount of bugs inside the room of any of the rooms I'd stayed in. Truly impressive for being in the middle of the jungle. Thank you for providing a beautiful place for us to have a wonderful adventure!

Place to have an experience in the jungle, here you will hear the sound of birds and have a connection with nature. At night you can hear the sound of crickets and the wind in the trees, the cabin is equipped with everything you need, with great quality, but do not expect to find air conditioning because an experience in the jungle and you will surely rest very well. In this place you will find in your cabin, hot water, shampoo, conditioner, body cream, air freshener, mosquito repellent, coffee, sugar and milk ... all of quality, you will really feel in comfort. As for the food, I recommend you try it since the food takes care of the details of cooking, seasoning and preparation, in my experience I was able to eat breakfast and dinner (the English influence is present), so you will have a quality service. the owner of the place is very friendly and cares that the guests are very comfortable and happy.

Good interesting place with good food, the cabins lack a bit of maintenance and services are expensive all things considered. But I think it is a good alternative when going to calakmul

Lovely food, wonderful hot shower and fun social atmosphere at the bar. Thanks Diane and Sandra for the hospitality. Anyone staying here please do check out the bat vortex phenomenon nearby!!

This is a great place to stay if you are interested in Mayan Ruins. The hostess Diane LaLonde is very helpful for the novice and experienced, interested in the history of Mayan civilization and their architecture. The food is exceptional and more European than anywhere else in this region. The cocktails are delicious as well.

We LOVED Rio Bec Dreams. We felt inspired, understood, cared for. If you need AC and a swimming pool, this isn't for you. But if you like ingenuity, creativity, vigor, subtle luxury and art, this is your spot. Diane opened our eyes to the history of the ancient Maya and the Xpujil region. Her instructions for your days are all you need. Also, she is a living example of how to change your live at any age and keep doing work you love 'till any age. A special spot. ??

I strongly recommend this place if you want to enjoy the jungle and listen to natures voices at the morning. If you are looking for fancy hotel like in Tulum it isn't place for you. All place is very clear and they serve a very good breakfasts and dinners (if you need they would prepare you a good lunch for a trip). Diane is a very good host I regret We stayed for only 2 nights I will miss the Rio Bec Dreams and I hope I can visit this place once again in the future.
