★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The price is per boat (holds up to 6 people) and for us was about 1300 pesos total. We spent about 2.5 hours riding around seeing birds and crocodiles. Then we went to see las coloradas, the flamingos, had a mud bath, and washed ourselves on a little secluded beach before heading back. Amazing tour guides and amazing experience for the price. Strongly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quiet place. Not much to do here but the Flamingo tours. For crocodiles you can walk 5 minutes to the cenote and watch them. We stayed two nights. Next time I would make it a day trip from Valladolid or Tizimín.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visited Rio Lagartos today and after a great lunch in front of the pier, we were off on the boats. Seeing Flamingos, aligators, going for a mud bath and following with some swimming. A Great time and place to enjoy !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rio Lagratos is a small village, blink and you will miss it. A bit off the beaten path but worth the drive. Strongly suggest taking a boat tour. Local guide/captain will take you on a adventure through open water and rivers where you will get a chance to see some very unique birds and even crocodiles. Same birds actually to up to the boat to show off their feathers ...in exchange for some fish (ask the captain before you leave port). Pelicans are also very popular.
One may also see the salt lands (i called them that ?). A place where the water turns almost pink.
Do take the drive...definitely worth it.
Do take cash...no ATM machines...anyyyywhere

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We found this company on Google. Jurge is super friendly and patient. He explained everything, and provide all the information to us. During the trip,he listened to our questions and showed us beautiful sits inside the biosphere. The area is beautiful and well preserved. The cost is fair and the value is high. You should also check their restaurant. Thanks.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s definitely one of the best tour I tried in Mexico.
I was lucky to haggle to the attractive price, but anyway each peso worth it

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We took a 3 hours private tour with Jorge to explore the estuary and see wildlife.
We've done a lot of tours during our travel times, but this simple man is next level guide. He is a local, speaks English very well and is continuing legacy from his father. He knows area very well and can provide a lot of information about flora and fauna there. On the way back we saw a lot of boat tours, with my partner we were joking they are quiet tours, because there was little talking or just pointing on animals. Jorge on the other hand was explaining about mangroves, flamingos, crocodiles, Mexican bay, Mayans. Yucatan peninsula, etc.
He is an expert and knows a lot about Rio Lagartos natural reserve and is also doing enviromental work for Natural Parque.
After our morning trip to see wildlife we went to near island with local restaurant to swim in Mexican gulf, eat fresh sea food, drink beer and simply enjoy the moment.
Book this tour, you definitely won't regret it, you will support a local guy and contribute to protecting wildlife.
