Además, fomenta la investigación para fines rurales (incluyendo semillas, plantas y otros), regula las actividades relacionadas con la pesca, el control de medicinas y alimentos para animales domésticos y de granja, y fomenta, como actividad extra, todas las artesanías rurales, en conjunto con SEDESOL.
