Historic place where months before erecting the Church he saw Cortés, Alvarado and the rest of the invading army fleeing in the dark of the night carrying the gold stolen from the Mexicas, meters later when they were discovered, they run discovering that the avenue had no bridge, falling into the waters of the lake and drowning when being crushed by their companions (and sinking more) ("Alvarado bridge", does it sound familiar?) They run until they leave the reach of Mexica, this episode being known as "sad night" (for Cortés ) because he loses horses and soldiers with part of the loot.

He had severe damage in the earthquake of September 2017, damages were increased. Church of the Holy Veracruz In the Church of the Holy Veracruz was buried Manuel Tolsá. Another problem you have is that there is much indigent in if they are not the problem, but if you produce smells of piss and garbage. The square itself is nice but gives the feeling of insecurity. in fact on the street behind the church which has entrance to the Metro Hidalgo it is famous for its muggings. The church inside is very sloppy but lack of maintenance and no cleaning. Until today January 21, 2020, there was absolutely done anything. If you like information, please give me a LIKE

This old temple has a nice plaza with a fountain. During weekends they have a kind of cultural flea market for books and different things. In this temple, there are the reliqs of the Sculptor and artist "Manuel Tolsá" the one who created the "Little horse" in honor of Carlos IV from Spain. It was moved from the Caballito de Reforma site to the National Art Museum on Tacuba street, Mexico City downtown.
