Best location in zona romantica. Easy walk to shops restaurants beach markets. Beautiful infinity pool.

Excellent location. Lovely grounds. There's noise in Old Town but that's a trade for the energy and activities.

The perfect location in old town puerto Vallarta. Everthing is just a walk away. The condos are clean,well-maintained, and a big infinity pool.

Too loud. Discos kept me awake five nights a week. Terrible. Apartments were okay, but I had to knock myself out with vodka every day just to sleep. I cannot recommend this to anyone, unless you can easily fall asleep.

Just got back from staying at Selva Romantica... this is one of the most beautiful and authentic grounds I’ve been to, it also has great views and has a very Mexican feel. It’s quiet, safe, close to town and the beach. My only complaints are, because it IS authentic, there are no elevators and lots of stairs... and there wasn’t any staff to carry up the bags (I’m out of shape, and my parents are 65 and 75 so not easy for them to carry a weeks worth of luggage up over 5 flights of stairs. The only other complaint I have is the pool doesn’t allow you to swim and have any drinks (not even plastic bottles/cups) while swimming... I like to be able to enjoy a beverage while floating or swimming in the pool (understand it may not be an issue for everyone, but wish we would have known before booking) we hardly utilized the gorgeous pool because of that. All in all we enjoyed ourselves and can see how this is many people’s favorite place to stay.

VERY RACIST STAFF. If you are Mexican, dark skin, black or Asian do not even think about booking any condo at Selva Romantica. The security guys will follow you literally everywhere. You will not be able to relax by the pool, not even on the street. They will inform everyone which condo you are staying, and they will be watching every single step you do. I felt very unsafe. One day I was literally on the street talking to my Mexican dark skin brother and one of the security guys saw us (four of us stayed there) and he kept watching me. I went to tell him, we are staying here, you know it and I am on the street, why you do not go somewhere else? He said I need to be here, and I asked on the street, he said yes. Obviously, this was not true. The other days nobody was there. Another guy was following us everywhere we went. I stopped and asked him to please stop following us (in Spanish), he ran but came back in a couple of minutes from somewhere else. Every time we were at the pool, some security person was there. My poor mom felt so uncomfortable. She could not believe how they were discriminated us for being dark skin. I talked to the white guests, and all of them said it did not happen to them. Y para ustedes personal de Selva Romantica, no puedo creer como tratan a otros mexicanos de esta manera. Dejen de ser racistas. Cree que no tenemos dinero o por ser morenos nos trata así.

I just recently returned from a stay at the Safari building in Selva. Other than the stairs which are not fun. The place is gorgeous and authentic and the pool is to die for. The employees were kind and super professional. I will stay there again for sure. As for someone elses post about Security being racist, I find that very hard to believe. Security is very tight at Selva because they are protecting everyone and I saw them on the street many times.

I can’t rave enough about this place! We ended up here after a bad airBnB experience and could only stay a few nights of our remaining week but I never wanted to leave. The property manager, Michelle, was amazing and super helpful. The pool and grounds are like a little oasis away from everything yet still in the heart of the zone. Not sure what noise the other review is talking about- maybe my condo was just facing a different direction- but you couldn’t hear anything besides the trash trucks in the morning (which you really can’t get away from in old Town). I love the traditional style and character of the place without it being dirty or out of date feeling. The kitchen met all our needs, there was free laundry washing available with a key, and the security guards were friendly and alert. Water pressure was great, bed was very comfortable, the AC worked great when needed, and the location was PERFECT. Chatting with folks at the pool, many of them are regular repeat lodgers. We’re going back next month and getting the same place.
