Waited over an hour for our first drink... That's basically the main story: way understaffed and slow everything.
Although to top it off, management and staff were fighting and blaming each other when things went wrong, really awkward and just obviously not well run. And then trying to make us pay the full bill when we're getting our last two drinks at closing time, after ordering them hours before? No. Just no.
Visited on 29th December, 2021.
We liked Mamitas Beach club in playa del Carmen. Can be expensive but it's big at least and has enough staff to serve you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ LOVED the afternoon I spent at Serenity!! After a terrible time being price gouged in the Tulum hotel zone, we opted for a calmer spot at Xpu Ha and it was EXACTLY what we were hoping for. Very reasonably priced ($10 USD per person in consumable for a shaded bed the entire day), and the food was really tasty. The music is also not too loud, so you can enjoy a book or a good conversation with your family and friends. The waters were calm and I'm really happy I brought snorkel gear. Incredible service -- if you're visiting ask for Diego, he'll make sure you have a great time! Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Feeling like an outsider here, but our group of 10 adults and 3 kids spent 4 hours here on a Monday and had a perfect time. Hugo was our man from the start and explained how their operation worked (based on consumption of food and beverage). He offered three great spots for our group and made sure there were enough seats and tables for all. Food was great for beach eats. Drinks were refreshing and cocktail options were fun. When it came time to our bill, Hugo added everything up in front of us, notified that gratuity was not included and we had him add on a 20% tip for his great service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I don’t know what’s with some of these bad reviews. This place was amazing! Waiter was great, good service. Love the beach beds, all the other places it’s just a lounge chair. Drinks and food were delicious. I would definitely recommend spending your beach day here!

Food was ok. It was nice, not magnificent.
The only complaint is they automatically charge you 22% of the Tip on the Bill.
The waiter said that he deserved the Tip because he gave us an extra chair.....
We were 4 adults and a 5 year old. We spent mostly the day swimming at the sea.
Everything was perfect until the waiter got upset that the Tip was under our discretion not his....
He just demanded the Tip, that's it. We gave gave him A Tip of 16% on a $3000 pesos Bill.
Still he got upset.
Other than that no complaints
