I came to the school for 3 weeks but decided to stay for 6 weeks. Excellent and well organized program. After 4 weeks I was feeling a bit overextended and they were wonderful in accommodating my needs. Puebla is a lovely place and getting to know the people there was very enriching. My biggest apprehension was doing a homestay but my host family was really great ?

As a former student at SIP, I want to share my experience and the results I obtained after 6 weeks of private instruction and host-family stay. I came with a weak B1-level understanding of Spanish and left with a strong B2 level competency. My instructors were thorough, patient, engaging, and knowledgable. I found the connection to the Mexican culture, a key focus of the institute, enriching to my understanding of the language, because at the higher levels of language, the connection to culture cannot be ignored to obtain understanding. The staff is polite and professional. Additionally, the 2 hours of conversation with a local is extremely useful, and unique relative to the other program I have recently completed in Spain. My host family was a delight and communicative, and I am genuine friends with them. Obviously, this likely varies, but I was impressed by the thought put into this. In regards to Puebla, my family was quite worried about my safety in Mexico (I am from Texas). I can tell you that I did not once feel unsafe in Mexico, at any of the excursions, or even in Mexico City. I have honestly felt less safe in my hometown, Houston, on occasion. I believe if you come ready to engage, spend personal time studying and reviewing your material outside of class, **commit to use only Spanish to communicate**, and meaningfully engage in lessons and welcome correction in your interactions, you will advance rapidly in this program. I will also say, for the price, it really is impressive. Also, everyone should visit Puebla, in general. I highly recommend this program for any and all interested in serious advancement of their understanding and application of the Spanish language.

This Institute is a great place to learn or improve your Spanish language at any level. The program is totally student- centered for individual need. It is intensive yet flexible. There are many instructors to fit your learning style. Everyone is open and friendly. The total immersion into the city life is enriching. I took a three-week course and plan to return for more training.

My goal was to visit Puebla and a companion of mine revealed to me you need to require at any rate seven days of Spanish classes at the Spanish Institute you won't think twice about it. I wound up reading for 3 weeks and in the wake of learning at 6 distinct schools in Mexico, I can say that there isn't another school that does a great job. It outperformed my assumptions.

Es bueno, pero les pagan un salario muy bajo a los profesores I am sorry. It was not my intention to offend. Please allow me to clarify what I was trying to express: I completely agree with you that the Spanish Institute of Puebla has good programs and excellent teachers, as well with the fact the cost of the language programs is reasonable for foreign students. What I wanted to point out was that, by comparison to the cost of the Institute’s programs, I think the salaries that the teachers receive are quite low, even lower than what I think to be the minimum salary in Mexico (at least for private schools). I understand that the Institute has many operational expenses, but still think that they should be paying teachers and guides a more equitable salary, especially when considering the skills, high qualifications, and experience of the teachers. I imagine it is frustrating for teachers and guides to learn how much students are paying compared to the salaries they are receiving.I also believe students are shocked to find out how little the Institute pays their teachers and guides. In conclusion, my issue is not that the Institute does not have excellent language programs for students to learn Mexican Spanish, but rather with the unbalanced compensation of their teachers and guides. Aside from that, I recommend the Institute to anyone who want to improve with the Spanish language. :)
