★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was a Spirit airline fan until they left us stranded in Cancun. They delayed the flight 6 hours and then would only allow you to board if you had a connection that was still possible to meet. Obviously no one did. They then scheduled us for the next day and didn’t honor our upgraded seats for the big seats and stuck us in row 36. I have 65000 points on the Spirit MasterCard. I am canceling that card as soon as I get home (if that ever even happens at this point). I will never fly with them again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst airline EVER!! They make you think they are cheap, then they goug you with taxes and fees and bags and breathing!! It's ridiculous!! Then they leave us stranded in another country!! They cancelled our flight! Then we couldn't get a hold of anyone in customer service!! Will NEVER fly spirit again!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I rate this airline one star because they sold 2 of our seats to 2 other people. We literally paid for seats that we didn’t sit in. They had us jumping seats until no one else was boarding the plane. Me and my girlfriend had seats next to each other that we paid for, and I ended up sitting in the far back, and she was somewhere up in the front. The flight attendant was nice and offered us free food and to comp us our money back. But due to them arriving late to pick us up, and landing late. They dropped us off at a different terminal which was American Airlines terminal, not spirit so we didn’t get a refund. Sad,I always flew on different airlines because of the bad things I heard about spirit airlines and decided to give them a chance, and first time flying spirit this happens. Thank you Spirit for bringing us home safe. But I will never fly with this airline AGAIN.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you plan to travel to Cancun use another airline. The counter employees were nice but I can not tell the same about my interaction with the Cancun Manager his name is Luis. I had some issues with my passport to enter US and he did help me at all, despite I was traveling with my family. When I contacted CBP on my own and they said that I was clear to travel back home he just said sorry the flight is closed. He was rude and he did not care about our situation Next day I bought a ticket with American and the experience was completely different! The American Airlines staff helped and I was able to return back home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are frequently flying spirit. This had to be the most horrible piece of junk airport in Cancún. No direction. My wife and I were zone 1. Finally got up front and than the lady just basically got all upset and told me i need this form( which we NEVER got)and send me all the way back to an imaginary line. Then just to be ignored once up front. it was dumb. Almost makes me want to cancel my spirit cards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Missed our flight cause the guy working the airline told us we had to have a covid test done prior to boarding.
We missed our flight and spent 4 hours longer getting the test and waiting for the next flight and then they didn’t even ask for proof of the test… used sprit for years but the past two times using them have been horrible.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worst airline experience ever!! We checked in and waited at the gate and our flight never boarded. We checked the app and it kept saying the gate we were at and that it was on time. We were also getting text updates and they confirmed the same thing. 10 mins before the flight we tracked a spirit rep down and were told it might be at a different gate. When we finally found the gate, it was too late to board the flight.
We had a direct flight which we missed because no spirit rep came to find is at the original gate. They claimed they called our names but we heard all the announcements at our gate and none were for us.
We were then told the next flight was the following day and wasn't direct. It was a total of 10 hours and 20 mins of travel as opposed to our 4 hour direct flight we paid for.
The spirit staff at the airport were of absolutely no help.
We incurred extra costs for a hotel, food, PCR covid tests etc.
When we came to check in for our new flight, we realized after we checked in, that there was a shorter flight home and no one offered it to us. When we asked to be put on that flight, the spirit crew at the airport told us no because it was too much effort to move our bags. Over all it was the worst customer experience we have had. No more spirit flights for us!
UPDATE!
I called spirit customer service and Alejandro managed to get me on the shorter flight. Still an 8 hr flight with layover but better than 10.
When I went back to the check in, I had the nicest agent named Loida who took care of us. The only issue on this go around is that we had to sign a waiver that our bags may not get put on our flight. So Loida has redeemed a star for this crew.

Spirit sent our bags to Houston and we flew to ft Lauderdale. Waiting on customer service to reply to the situation

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first time ever flying Spirit. I hear so many horror stories, but I must say I have nothing bad to say. The flight was smooth. The plane appeared to be in great condition. I’m only giving 4 stars because I like to sleep on the plane, and that flight crew was not having that. Lol. They were doing give aways, playing games, just very engaged with the customers. So if that’s what your into, you’ll love flying this airline! Just don’t pack a large bag, because you will pay for it!
