β β β β β We stayed here before, and loved it. Since then, half the resort has been sold, including half the restaurants, with no advance notice to us. There were only 2 restaurants, and almost every night 1 of them was closed. The food was only decent, the drinks were not good, and it was obvious they have begun using cheap ingredients, and watering down. Even the draft beer tasted off. The staff was nice but seemed unsure about any question asked of them. This resort has gone way down hill and I would not recommend to anyone.

β β β β β I would not recommend this resort for families unless your children are 18 or older. The dining options are very limited. There are only two places for them to eat and they do not offer the same food that is available to guest over 18, therefore leaves your whole family eating at only two places. My children are 12 and 14! Over 12 is considered an adult here and you pay for them as an adult. Room service is also not available so again your options are even more limited. There is a nice building with good food and many options but you must be 18 to enter. The website does not reflect this. I am currently staying here and have four days left, we will just have to leave the resort to find better options. I never expect much from the food at an all inclusive but this is our third time here at sunscape Cozumel and it has been very disappointing. I do not think we will be back.

β β β β β We booked 2 nights to celebrate our 22nd anniversary. By mistake we type the wrong dates so the check in was one night earlier than what we plan. Basically we missed one night! When we arrive, Samuel (in the picture) from front desk did the impossible possible to extend our stay as we initially planned without any extra charge. We couldnβt believe that! He saved our dream! All the staff is incredible gentle and caring. Our diet is vegan so they were so flexible to attend our requires at all the time! Incredible experience! Recommended!?

β β β β β I cannot say enough good about our stay! We're easy to please, laid back, low maintenance kind of people, to be sure. Anyone who left a negative review is not someone I would even want to associate with, as they must be the most uptight, demanding, entitled, selfish prudes imaginable.
I have, after much thought, come up with one negative thing to say, and easily remedied. Our room was only one room in from the beach, and there was no concrete pathway, so without walking all the way around, we had to go through a little sand. No big deal, the beach is the REASON for the trip! But, it really would've been nice to have a scruffy mat outside our door, it was impossible not to flood our room with sand (including the shower drain) to the point where I felt bad for the cleaning staff!
Yep. That was the worst part about our vacation. Getting a little beach sand in our room. Life is hard.
*sigh. I want to go back....

β β β β β We had a great week with our two boys (age 11 & 8) at the Sunscape Cozumel resort. The entertainment team, especially Heydy and Christopher were so amazing with our kids (and us adults). The boys loved the organized activities they provided. The ping pong table was also a nice break for our group when we needed something different. The area of beach we parked on most of the week (near the Coconuts Bar) was nice and relaxing and well maintained. We will definitely consider this resort for a return trip. Even though a large part of the resort was closed for construction, we never felt it was too crowded or inconvenienced.

β β β β β The Bad:
DIVERS BEWARE!!!!!! DO NOT purchase your dives in advance when booking your stay. Purchase them each day at the resort if you plan on using their contracted dive shop (which is Dive House). If the weather doesn't co-operate, or other issues, you will NOT receive a refund AND the resort will not let you apply the credit towards another excursion. The hotel keeps your money. The dive shop is only paid if you dive with them. We had several days the port authority closed the port and no diving was allowed. I realize this is out of anyone's control, but why not let us book something else with the money we paid to dive? It makes no sense at all. So we are out $$$.
The food wasn't great. (In fact I got food poisoning as well as some others from either the food or drink) It was a hit and miss with things that were good. The drinks were very weak...very, very weak.
The Good. The rooms were great! Good AC, Awesome location! Friendly staff, great place for kids too. Thus the 3 stars

β β β β β Please read if traveling with children. We booked this trip 6 months in advance. We booked suites - 4 rooms. When we arrive at the resort we are told half the resort is under construction and not available. They knew this WELL before we had arrived. Heck they knew this well before we had paid for the rooms. You have to file a claim to get the money back from the price difference. The rooms were small, no bathtubs for the kids. There are only two restaurants open BUT they were very accommodating about her food and preparing food for the little one. We have NO complaints about the food or the staff. The entertainment was great. Even with only one pool open it was very kid friendly and never to crowded. Again most of the staff are amazing.
