Armando Jimenez, his wife Antonia Carrillo and their entire family are lovely people! It's always great to spend some time in their alebrijes taller. The mood here is so relaxed and welcoming! Armando is a great wood carver with more than 30 years of experience. He's internationally known for his talent and exhibits his alebrijes art in the US on a regular basis. Antonia is the one painting the pieces in the traditional design. Their son Alejandro Jimenz is also painting and well known for his art. He's using more modern design and zapotecan patterns. I highly recommend to visit them and to check out their gallery!

Incredible work. So kind and they explain well their craft. I highly recommend the experience of painting your own alebrijes. This is unique and fun. Thank you so much

Beautiful handicrafts here, made by the grandson and family of Miguel Jiminez. Our guide translated for us what Armando was telling us - his family are clearly very passionate about this art. After learning about the history, and how the wood is carved (a lot of time and care), we were able to paint our own small alebrije! Mind you, this was part of a workshop we paid for (and not just visitors stopping by). Afterwards, I got to take home my creation, plus I bought another piece of his work
