I am VERY disappointed in the integrity and practices of this hotel. We were guests of the rooftop pool and paid a consumption tab which is typical of Playa (beach clubs and hotel rooftops). We were careful to stay within the amount we paid to enter. Upon leaving we were informed that that only PART of our entrance fee went towards food and drink. We were told we had additional pesos to pay. At no point was this mentioned and is not the practice of all the other, similar places we attended. SHAME!!

Nice large rooms but service in the restaurant is appalling! Incompetency plus! Only one decent server who actually works at the pool- the tall bald guy ( Sorry don't know his name) but he was the only one that was on the ball. The rest were an utter waste of space not knowing nor caring wot to do when there was customers! Reception staff were friendly but I was horrified to be charged $100aud for "cleaning of a face washer & a towel that had sunscreen on it"!! Upon check out. Really? I don't even own sunscreen! Where are the pictures of it! And it was handwritten on a note the receptionist held & I was not given any paperwork or receipt of payment for this! Ripped off & would NEVER recommend this place.

My sink was leaking water onto the floor. Hotel room seemed a bit outdated for the price. I probably will stay at another hotel next time. The Pool day pass was the best part! Service was excellent. DJ was really good as he played Reggaeton, top-40, Salsa, Cumbia, funk and little house and techno towards the end of the night. Will definitely return. ?

Of all my stays in many places in Mexico, think twice if you decide to stay here. We paid for premium room thinking to spend a little more money to catch a good night sleep before our departure. This hotel is for party goers and drinkers. We are not that type. The music from the rooftop carry the same beat into the evening then the club right across from the hotel playing MASSIVE music until 4am. Despite that we closed all of the windows, there wasn’t much differences. The only nice thing about it is the bed. I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Such an amazing hotel but what really made it special was the staff. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly throughout our 5 day stay. I booked this trip last minute with nothing planned. Saundra made sure we had something fun planned each and every day. She gave outstanding recommendations for where to get the best coffee, the best snorkeling excursion, most beautiful Cenote’s and much more. Nic at the desk was always a warm smile and welcoming demeanor each evening. Shout out to the amazing bartenders and servers on the rooftop! They welcomed us like friends each day. Thank you to everyone else at the hotel (housekeeping, cooks, all other staff) for such a fun girls trip! Laurie & Andrea

I was a little hesitant to stay here with some of the recent reviews about safety and fraud, however, I am glad we did and had an excellent stay at the palm. Management was helpful, food was great and location is perfect. Although it was in the center of nightlife, it was peaceful inside and quiet (no problems sleeping at night). I felt safe and am glad to have stayed here.

This place is a must stay. It's located within a few feet of the main strip (Centro), and the staff is fantastic. Can't say enough good things about the staff. Sandra was the best, and the diner crew was so friendly and personable. They have a rooftop bar/pool area with a kitchen and music. Some of the most fun we had in Playa Del Carmen was here, because they help facilitate a very welcoming atmosphere. There was a pop-up model show, and it seems like they have random events fairly often. The room was awesome, and even though there wasn't much of a view, the amenities and staff more than made up for it. Sandra at the front was so insightful and helpful with suggestions and assiting with our itinerary. If you're balling on a budget, this place is definitely worth the money.

This hotel is very well decorated and the room at a good price. To that the deluxe room is very big. However if one looks at the “details” (sheets with holes, cracked sink, etc), it needs more maintenance. This hotel is very practical, because it is near the beach, restaurants, etc. It is not a calm place without music or noise and as a nice pool with bar on the rooftop. The big minus of this experience were some “poor” in quality elements of the continental breakfast (fruit salad, juices and turkey ham) at the Irene Restaurant…
