The Reef Marina - 77710 Playa del Carmen

I just did my padi open here. Completely new to scuba. I had a fantastic time. I had the same instructor, Bertrand, for the pool session and for all my diving. Before I did my open I got to spend two days on the boat whilst my 13 y.o. son was doing his advanced with Rico. My son and I thought the diving was fantastic, and likewise all the instructors and staff were very caring too, such as always asking if we wanted a sea sickness tablet just in case... Just like the instructors The boat crew really looked after us too. Really hoping to get back to Reef Marina for a dive before we leave Mexico.

Started off with a few miscommunication, but Pedro was an amazing help and saved our vacation. Gracias amigo’ lo siento :)

Chris would not honor the schedule to play beach volleyball. Sad.

The Reef Marina is the best diving centre on Yucatan Peninsula. One of the offices is located on the beautiful beach in Playa del Carmen next to The Reef Playacar Resort & Spa. We spent there two weeks out of which 9 days were diving days. Every time the staff was helpful. The diving trips were prepared very professionally. After the breakfast we were picked up from the hotel and we went to the Cenots to dive. After diving we ate lunch in local native restaurants. The location of The Reef Marina Diving Centre is not without significance, because if it comes to reef diving or bull sharks diving, the boat sails straight out of the beach by the hotel. I also recommend diving in Cozumel. This excursion was organised from The Reef Marina, too. 10/10 points, excellent !!!

Love the people at Reef Marina, fantastic dive operation!!! My daughter and I had a day of diving with them. Their staff, Lucy and Adrian (the ones we worked with) were absolutely amazing! Adrian made sure to show my daughter everything he could find underwater and Lucy worked with me to get us set and booked due to stormy days when we first arrived. Beginners to advanceed divers will like this operation. Dive the reefs in Playa, Cozumel, or a cenote or 2.

Spent 3 incredible days at this wonderful hotel. Everything was perfect. The staff and the food were wonderful and attentive at all the restaurants, and worked extra hard to accommodate our special needs and requests. The grounds were immaculate and spectacular. There’s even an ice cream bar, ostensibly for kids, but I got some. Pools are dazzling and clean. Wonderful beach. Just perfect for relaxing.

The Reef was recommended by a friend and she was spot on! The shop was very communicative about how things would work and how to get connected with the PADI online lessons. My husband finished the online lesson before we arrived. He then did the first morning in the pool at the hotel where the shop is located and where we were staying. I joined in for a brief refresh course, since it had been a while, a long while since I had been diving. In the afternoon we did 2 open water dives off the boat to the north of our hotel. The second day we did 2 more dives to the south. Our second day was our actual 25th anniversary which made it all the more awesome. We had a photographer with us one the first dive, she got some great shots (what I posted here) We saw turtles, eels, barracuda, and a nurse shark! The staff was just wonderful. We checked in the day before just to make sure we knew how things were going to go, Lucy greeted us as though we were old friends she was expecting :) Bertrand was our instructor/guide, he was so easy going and pleasant while making sure he covered everything thoroughly. I highly recommend these guys! And can't wait to go back!

I have been here twice with my fiance. The beach is awesome, the staff is friendly, and it's easy to get anywhere from playacar. The highlight for us is the dive shop, the staff is friendly and we became certified divers there. The spa is also good. The rooms are acceptable, the food is also just okay. The drinks are fine depending on the bar tender. For the price we really enjoy this resort, it is a good bet. Plus the hotel grounds are gorgeous, like being in a jungle.
