Coach Mike runs a legit gym. The facilities are ideal for Muay Thai. The ring is really cool for sparring and the equipment (bags/pads/etc) is legit fairtex stuff. Theres plenty of room for medium size classes to spar or practice combos. His staff is really nice and also train. They also sale gear at great prices. Culturally it is a bit trippy to find a muay thai community in a beach town of Mexico but thats exactly what this is. Everyone knows each other and new arrivals become part of the group immediately. I’ve trained at 4 different muay thai gyms and every gym including Mike’s of course had trainers whose life was the gym. You can see how important The Union is to coach Mike. He wants people to enjoy themselves and really love muay thai. As a trainer, coach mike is coached himself by golden years fairtex legends such as bunkered (who i got to train with in SF!) Mike is a legit ex pro who possesses the empathy necessary to understand where his students are struggling and where they can improve. He will often answer your questions before you ask them. Great muay thai and boxing gym. Everyone here is very friendly and professional. I took 1 on 1 boxing classes with coach Mike and he is an amazing teacher. Very thoughtful and always explains the concepts and fundamentals behind the training. Will be coming back here if I’m ever in Playa del Carmen again.

I had an amazing experience learning Boxing then Muay Thai one-on-one with Mike! He's a very patient teacher but pushes you to be better. I learned so much and feel so much stronger! Also a great atmosphere and everyone is super friendly and welcoming. Would absolutely recommend!

Great trainers and a real down to earth fight g feel with friendly peers. Strongly recommend for anyone interested in boxing and Muay Thai to stop by and at least meet the staff or sign up for a day pass. They're flexible and willing to work with you depending ok your stays!

I had an amazing experience training with the UNION Team while in Playa Del Carmen for a long-term working vacation. I did both Boxing and Muay Thai private sessions with Mike for several months and really felt massive improvement over that time thanks to Mike's instruction. There seems to be something for everyone at the UNION whether you want to improve your technique or just get an awesome cardio session in. Check them out, they are very welcoming.

I've trained in Muay Thai gyms in the UK, Hong Kong, Canada and Colombia to name a few countries and the Union was one of the most enjoyable and accessible I've been to. The cost of the gym gets you access to all classes so you can pick and choose. All classes are led by Big Mike who is a very cool dude who has a lot of knowledge about the sport, different fighting styles and so on. Highly recommended if you're staying in PDC.

I love this gym! I was in Playa visiting my mother and decided to go to a few classes here while I was in town. The environment is super welcoming and friendly, and it was nice to be able to get a work out in while I was on vacation. I went to one Muay Thai class and one boxing class. I’m a complete beginner to Muay Thai, but the instructor gave me personalized drills to help me learn the form while the rest of class did their usual routine; I’m glad I didn’t just get thrown into it!

Don't hesitate, just do it! Compared to a normal gym this is 10 times better. The whole group thing creates accountability to keep going and I always leave the gym fresh and reenergized. They are working on a mini gym with weights etc so you can still do your thing there too.
