★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My rooftop breakfast looking out at the mountains and Santo Domingo was amazing. The pastries from Masea are all amazing. Their bi-colored tetelas are works of art. Olga Cabrera has created yet another beautiful expression of Oaxaca for all to experience.

Pricey for what it is.
Waiters are slow and forgetful.
Had a 3 course meal with my mom.
The appetizer was mediocre, we had the memelas. The filling was good but the tortillas were not just made or hot but more cold than hot.
The chiles rellenos were OK, expensive for what it was. They tasted a lot like old oil. No sauce, no beans. Really pricey for two small chiles with tons of egg and plain rice.
The tortillas they gave us were cold and there is nothing worse than hand made cold tortillas.
Dessert was a cheese cake which it was pretty good...but that's about it.
Drinks were OK nothing extraordinary.
Tried their atoles too, the guava tastes more like sugar than anything else. Their sweet breads are good but nothing extraordinary.
This place is hyped and overpriced. Take your hard earned money somewhere else.
Mediocre y caro. Hay lugares mucho mejores.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service is top notch and the food is delicious. I ordered some sort of mole and it was good. The mole sampler was a little underwhelming. Maybe I was expecting too much. The grasshopper tamales were a bit tough. But overall it’s a beautiful place to celebrate or have a special meal. Just beware if you have mobility issues. The dining room is on the 3rd floor.
Also the pastries and espresso on the ground floor are on par with any large city. I was very impressed. Didn’t get to try the stoles unfortunately!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent bread and chilaquiles make this a worthwhile visit. I actually thought this would be a tourist trap. I was wrong. Yes it's gorgeous. Yes it has lots of waiters. It also has a pan dulce (I think) that is the best pan dulce I've ever had. The chilaquiles were done with the sauce poured at the table, like a cross between tortilla soup and sopa oaxaquena. I'm going to ask for that more often, as the non-sauce ingredients, especially the Oaxacan cheese, pop with this presentation. The coffee is very good due to the liberal use of cane sugar for a deep sweetness. The eggs were a perfect fry. The cecina was perfectly salty against the bread.
We went in here thinking we'd overpay. We were wrong. I'll go back for that bakery and those chilaquiles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful restaurant in Oaxaca. We came for breakfast one day and dinner another. Both were great experiences. Everything is perfectly executed. At dinner a person will come to the table and make a salsa with fresh ingredients that you pick. A beautiful experience. Highly recommend the chile rellenos mixtos. They have the best bar I have found in Oaxaca as well. By that I mean they execute the cocktails perfectly. Old fashion was delicious, and watching the bar tender spend so much effort to execute it made it a delightful experience. Would highly recommend. The prices are very fair for the quality of food and service.
