★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our favorite restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. We visited this place when it was near the marina 5 years ago. The food was just as amazing now that it is in the romantic zone. Our table was right next to the river which made for a nice ambiance. Didn't have a problem with mosquitoes either. Highly recommend doing the tasting here, and both wine pairings were phenomenal (although I unsurprisingly enjoyed the premium pairing a little more). Felicidades Tintoque for what you are doing and the deserved recognition you are getting. See you again next year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (4.7/5)
Located in a rustic neighborhood, very nice dining room and open kicthen. The view from the outside dining area could be improved. The quality of the table and cutleries are 10/10.
The cocktails menu requires you try something new. They bring out an aboriginal drink called tuba to start with, it is amazing.
The menu is very original, unique and limited in scope but caters to all diets.
The cocktails come well presented and are delicous but cannot compete with the tuba drink served earlier. (Great quality straws)
For the appetizers we got the fried octopus and bread and butter.
They came fresh and well presented. The bread and butter was fresh and rich in flavor. The fried octopus was perfectly cooked and an experience to eat, although i usually prefer octopus well done (i am the exception).
For the main course we got the lamb (good for 2 ppl) and the grilled cabbage one of the vegan options.
The grilled cabbage dish was a very unique mesh of flavors the complemented each other very well. The lamb was a shawarma style wrap that was elevated by taking you to both mexico and the middle east with each bite. The quality of ingridients outshine in every bite.
The customer service was Excellent, catered to every need and paid attention to all the little details (asking you what garnish you would like in your water, providing context to each dish, and offering to ask the chef for custom options). You will truly feel at home here.
I give this a solid 4.7/5, the 0.3 deduction was due to the limited cocktail menu which was very unique making it difficult to know what you would enjoy.
Highly Recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An amazing dinner & experience. Located in old town on the river, both indoor & patio dinning. We enjoyed sitting outside on the river at a very private table. The vegetarian options were great, a beet humus topped with fresh pears, salad greens sprinkled with a champagne vinegar dressing. My husband had fried octopus which he dipped in a sweet potato purée & an entree was a fresh white fish with a green curry sauce. This restaurant has a full selection of wines, we selected a 2017 white Argentinian, Altar. The staff were all knowledgeable and very attentive. Definitely place Tintoque on your to do list when in PV.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Best meal we had in Puerto Vallarta. The concept is very much centered around deconstructed Mexican cuisine. So whatever you think you’re ordering, it will look a lot different than what you’re used to seeing. It will taste better than most food you’ve ever had! I’m sure the menu changes periodically but we had the “empanadas” for a first course and the “enchiladas” for one of the entrees. I can’t remember what the other entree was but my plate was completely clean. The cocktails were excellent. The setting is airy, modern, and laid back. It doesn’t
matter if you ask a question to a runner, waiter, or manager, the staff is very passionate about what they put on the table and are so knowledgeable about their menu. I highly recommend eating here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was absolutely amazing. The tasting menu was filling without being overly so. The cocktails were incredible and the staff was what you would expect in a Michelin-star restaurant. Definitely get the 36-hour tomato, it is unreal.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had lunch here, and it was absolutely delicious. Every dish was unique, creative, and seasoned to perfection. The cocktails were also incredible. Every dish had the perfect balance of flavors, including just the right amount of spice. All to often i find myself wanting more heat in fine dining, not here. This was the best food I've had in Vallarta and we've already booked dinner. Edit: we had dinner here on a pre fixe menu and we were absolutely blown away. One of the best dining experiences of my life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My overall verdict of Tintoque is that it is a very good restaurant that (mostly) deserves the hype it gets.
The starters were delicious and beautifully presented and I had one of the best cocktails I had over the course of 7 days in Puerto Vallarta.
The servers were incredibly attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They took time to talk us through each item we ordered to ensure we were ordering something we would ultimately enjoy. We were also grateful for the complimentary appetizer.
All of this meant that we had really high hopes for the main. We ordered a spicy paella with pork belly that turned out to be way too salty. We were disappointed with this as it was really the only negative point and I really hope we just got a bad one because the salt was overpowering and made worse because it was paired with pork belly which is itself very high in sodium.
The desserts were also just a little underwhelming.
All in all, I'd rate Tintoque a 3.5/5
Ambiance - 4
Cocktails - 4.5
Starters - 4.5
Service - 5*
Main - 2.5
Dessert - 3
