★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful outdoor chillout area & bar directly at the lagoon, nice and very big private room (#3), very friendly staff, good food and the best catamaran tour you can imagine (Tommy is the captain) on the amazing beautiful lagoon. Fair prices.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice location, let down by a terrible management. Myself and at least 2 other guests were asked to leave as "There is no availability" for us. Even though we had reserved and confirmed beds for 2 nights. I arrived late on my arrival date and was asked to leave just after breakfast the following day. I was offered an alternative 'private room' but was expected to pay the much higher difference in price, even though it was their error.
The next day was spent trying to find another bed in the town. Completely let down by the management.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the place. Bacalar is beautiful. Casa Tortuga offers a great view to the lagoon. We stayed in a private room. You have to keep in mind that is a hostel. So, not five stars. They have fair prices. it has a zone for camping. When we stayed here the people there were nice and some nights we dinner together. People very friendly. Maybe, the place can be cleaner but I would stay here again. Definitely.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful outdoor area with pier, view over the laguna and beach bar (happy hour 6-8pm). Room was clean but Bathroom smelled really bad. Either they just use water or didn't clean it for 2 weeks. Service is a bit slow and relaxed but on the other hand rooms are cheap so it was ok for us. Internet is slow but available on the whole area. Very good food. In summary acceptable price performance ratio, would stay there again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly Staff and very good location with access to the Lagune. Dorms are simple (no AC, only fans) but clean. Breakfast consists of Fruits and Coffee, 80 Pesos will get you a tasty burger. Chill-Out area with hammocks and bar is also very comfortable.
All in all the perfect place to relax for 2 or 3 days without a lots of tourists around.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We didn’t stay here but went here twice for dinner during our stay in Bacalar. The pizza is delicious, the drinks are good, the staff are lovely and the view of the lagoon is stunning!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recently our favorite pizza place in Bacalar. The pizzas are made in wood fire oven with thin crust, tasty sauce and delicious flavor combinations. The place is awesome, right on the lagoon even with a small bar with great cocktails.
