★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We take the "risk" and get an external tour by ourself. Let me tell you, it was my best experience in my whole trip (15 days). They take us to Chacchobben the Mayan Ruis, to a family that sell lot of delicious foods and to eat carnitas like a real Mexican. Our tour guide was Gustavo, such an amazing guy. He's well prepared and talks a lot, that's good believe me. The bus driver was amazing to, jimer, what a great guy. If I get to Costa maya I wouldn't doubt to go again with Gus Gus and Jimer. Thanks boys!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited Costa Maya via a cruise ship with no particular plans. We booked a tour through Toucan Tours to the Mayan ruins at Chacchoben. The price was reasonable, we didn’t get ripped off on the credit card transaction fee ($5 on a $100 tour for 2 people). We were driven in an air-conditioned van to the archaeological site. Our guide was a great driver, spoke very good English, about the area and the Mayan history. He was helpful and we felt comfortable in his care. So if you rant a tour you can bypass all those expensive tour companies right on the pier. Go out the pier gates. Walk towards the large Mayan style fountain you can see from the ship and take a chance. We will use them again the next time we are in the area.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unfortunately they lied to us on where they were going to take us. They post pics of another part of the lagoon and take you to a different side where you’re unable to swim and enjoy yourself. I would never recommend this place to anyone else. When we ask to take us to the correct place they refused to meet their own expectations. Horrible experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ update - tried to reach out via website and never any response. I filed dispute with my credit card and since there is a signed receipt there is not much we can do. no protection.
We chose the ATV tour and never were out of the streets. We were driving around taxi and what I thought was the middle of tour was a beach club and out group of 12 or so atv left us there. our Guide left and we had to find out own shuttle back to port. It was getting dark and we were not feeling safe. Our ATV were left on a side street and I have no idea what happened to them. We never had communication with company. I tried to reach our via website and no answer yet.

We visited an old maya town with temples and after this we where driven to the beach where the driver is waiting for you to pick you up and bring you back to the entry of the terminal for cruise ships. Our driver named Carlos explained us all the thinks we wanted to know and was very friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just got back from a tour in the port of Costa Maya. Booked by Toucan tours. Carlos was our tour guide and Hitzu was our driver. Both did a great job. Once you get out of the port Toucan is there to pick you up and take care of you the whole trip. Great job to Carlos and Hitzu…

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We did the chacchoben excursion and our guide was Carlos. He was very knowledgeable and informative of all aspects of the mayan culture. We learned a lot. I highly recommend booking directly with Toucan Tours. You save money and have a more personable experience. This was the highlight of our cruise.

Thank you Carlos for giving us the best tour in Costa Maya. We arrived on the Disney cruise two weekends ago and got a little lost. I found this tour agency online and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I did. The tour guide and his driver picked us up since we were so lost we had no idea were we were. We got a great deal for the tour trip to the Pyramids. Also he gave us water and drinks during the entire trip. I had such a great time. When we finished we went to a local food truck and got some tacos. Yummy! They were delicious!
I definitely recommend this agency and If you can get Carlos to be your tour guide please do, he is the best. I’m definitely contacting them again for a second vacation tour.
