There are two ferry companies that move freight and cars between Cozumel and the mainland - both are fine services and we experienced both on a recent trip. Both operate out of the same dock so just take whichever is leaving soonest. Both are very efficient managing the que as well as loading and unloading all the vehicles. Very much safety compliant! Both ferries take about an hour to arrive and the whole process is pretty painless now - unlike back in the day when there was only 1 or 2 crossings daily and u had to que up 4 hours ahead! No more! Fast, friendly and very efficient service is what we experienced!

Worst experience ever! Long queues, our experience was for several hours (6 h) waiting to buy a ticket, even after you’re buying it it’s not guaranteed you will enter the ferry if you don’t wait in the line. You can expect to move the cars at any time, even if we asked several employees, we received wrong answers and our car was left behind. It was schedule to leave at 14:30 and left after almost half hour. In this era with internet, online reservation and payment, unfortunately no possibility to do so with this company. I feel that they have a sadistic pleasure to put hundreds of people in queues under the sun in their vacations.

Easy way to transport our car from Cozumel to the main land, and then back again. Get there at least 80 minutes prior to the ferry time. It fills up!!!

Waited more than one hour in line, got a ticket and then left at the harbor. Boat just left while we were told to park on the side of the road. No one had even the decency to come tell us what was going on. Terrible service.

Have a Car? A Rental perhaps? Need to get to Cozumel with that vehicle? This is the port location to do just that. Your license plate & full name will be taken at the entrance; halfway through you get your ticket written up and pay in the little Kiosk (cash pesos or card). Then on you go! Pay attention to the boarding times followed by arrival times. There are very limited time slots, so be prepared and arrive 20 minutes early or sooner to guarantee a spot.

The most disorganised ferry in the world. You have to turn up "at least 3hrs in advance" then you sit in your car in the blistering heat for 2hrs 30mins waiting. Then they load the vehicles on so slowly that the ferry gets delayed past its scheduled time.

Seriously. - you can find more useful information in the picture to this review - IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to book ferry with car from the website - BOOKING CLOSES 24h ahead of departure - WITHOUT RESERVATION: you might need to arrive anywhere starting from AT LEAST 2 HOURS AHEAD to get on the boat and wait in line counting your blessings - availability will HEAVILY DEPEND on day and time: many locals come back and forth from island for the weekend: keep that in mind - schedule is subject to change: communicate with ULTRAMAR CARGA FB page - ride takes 1.5 hours each way, inside they have a bar with snacks, AC and comfortable seats that you can even nap on - prices for transfer are fair and affordable - there is just one other ferry company TRANSCARIBE that transports the cars and they are located at the same port - GETTING OUT FROM COZUMEL IS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT: you will need to drive to the ULTRAMAR CARGA OFFICE (instead of waiting at the port) to buy ticket and wait on their parking lot before departure
