Underwater Cozumel - Carr. Costera Sur

Alex was recommended to us by a friend with 3,000 dives and did not disappoint. He was very knowledgeable about the marine life and knew exactly where to look for everything we asked to see. (toadfish, sharks, turtles, drumfish, rockfish, nudibranch, rays, octopus, eels, etc...) I dove with my family on this trip. We had a group that varied in experience from advanced diver certs all the way to someone doing referrals for her open water. During one dive Alex and his assistant Miguel had to help deal with 3 divers having problems simultaneously. (reverse ear block, someone floating away in the current, and a diver with buoyancy problems on ascent). Alex and his assistant DM stayed calm, kept everyone else calm, and fixed each problem efficiently. tl,dr Alex is a true master at his craft and his entire crew was a joy to dive with.

By far the best diving experience of my life! The owner, Alex, worked with us before we arrived in Cozumel to accommodate our schedule and the variety of diving experience in our group. He provided an instructor to finish a friend’s open water certification, and another instructor to do a refresher for a couple of us. Then, we had four days of exquisite diving. Alex was able to monitor and assist all of us, even though we had varied levels of experience and comfort in the water. A second instructor was in the water on some of our dives to assist the newcomers. Alex’s awareness of not only the divers in the water, but the surrounding boats and dive groups, and his attention to pointing out to Sea life gave everyone an incredible experience. His knowledge of the reefs, navigation through archways, pass-throughs, wall dives left everyone inspired and feeling safe. Our final dive was a night dive where we experienced octopi, eels, lobsters and crabs all actively engaged in living the nightlife. During our surface intervals, Alex provided information about reef life as well as sandwiches and fresh, local fruit and drinks. One of the best things was Alex’s enthusiasm and joy. He is passionate about his work, and doesn’t call it work. He is living his dream, and is excited to share the reefs with others. His pure joy is infectious! Alex also lined up a van and driver on the mainland for us. We explored some cenotes and the Mayan ruins of Coba. The person he recommended was also outstanding! Alejandro Tun Garcia knows how to work magic!

We had a fantastic experience diving with Alex and Miguel for the week! Our group is a mix of abilities, including a certification referral, and Alex was extremely accomodating to all of our wants and needs, including helping us organize a day trip to Playa del Carmen and lining us up with a fantastic driver/guide on the mainland. The diving was phenomenal and Alex is a true professional. He was able to manage the group seemlessly while helping individual divers with issues (one had a reverse squeeze and needed coaching to the surface). Alex knows these reefs like the back of his hand and has all the tricks for finding wildlife. Between giant moray eels, octopus, toad Fish, nurse sharks, turtles, drum fish, nudibranches, and everything in between. Cozumel is a world class dive location, and Alex is a world class dive master. I will be coming back to dive with him again.
