Really nice place. Just opened so a bit rough on some details (no breakfast or anything to eat or a kitchen... so you kinda have to leave early every morning to eat). But it's really pretty and relaxing.

I wouldn't recommend it in rain season, right now is everything too wet and mosquitoes are very annoying.. according to the housekeeper April is the best time for staying, bc the flowers are blooming. No visible animals though, just frog and bird noises at night ?

It was amazing. Thank you again. Really clean. Really nice to have this experience in the middle of the jungle. Close to the laguna. You can watch bird from a tower. We saw two toucan and a lot of perrots and others birds. The atmosphere is really nice and quiet. People who run it are so kind. You can enjoy the sunset from the peer. Thank you,

Lovely place preserved by rural local community. Going there helps the community seal their vocation as a conservationist community. We visited at night and saw an owl, a tlacuache and a fox. The magic of being there without any light, the starry sky and the dark pond was breathtaking.

We loved this place, sleeping in the middle of the nature. Very calm and peaceful and the host was the best!

A great experience in the end, even though I was slightly disappointed with the lagoon and its surroundings. I walked around the lagoon, through at times very dense underbrush. I wouldn't recommend doing this, but if you do, bring long pants or get ready for some scratches. It's a pretty sad sight, so dry. I don't think it's just seasonal, although I didn't get a chance to ask. See the map screenshot. You can still see the outline of where the water must have been, that's about where I walked as well. Further in is less manageable to pass. Took me a bit over an hour. Shells are everywhere. The viewing platform is in disrepair, you can only access the start of the jetty. For a "conservation" project, they did a very bad job at conserving the platform, which must have been a pretty neat feature. There also seems no intent to repair it. Canoes are $50/h, I didn't use them. I asked (the very friendly) Toño what the conservation efforts are, after he told me 28 people are in the project. He stumbled over the answer a bit (we spoke Spanish, no excuse there), and finally settled on reforestation. I'm honestly not sure how much is being done. If I were in this project and wanted the campground associated with it, I would make sure to be able to show some of the efforts to the visitors, especially when someone asks. I also inquired if it's possible to see animals, and Toño said sometimes there are monkeys, but usually they are a bit further away. I didn't press him for more, but some better information or an offer for a guide would have been appreciated/better for business. I also found rusting beer cans just 50m from my tent. Well possible this was left by guests, but just shows the same lack of pride and caretaking as other parts of the property. The shower has very little pressure and outflow, but the facilities as such are sufficient and clean enough. The road in is well manageable with any car, just drive slowly and avoid the largest potholes. I'd get one of the family tents. 6 beds is the best location with the most space and chairs, but 3 doubles (where I stayed) is also ok. The cost of $476 was the same for me like the smaller tents (1 double) without chairs, which does not seem very fair. I'd make the double cheaper, it's not great value right now anyway. The redemption for me was arriving back from a (decent) dinner at the Casa Ka'an restaurant when it got dark, and settling down on the jetty to watch the stars appear. It was a moonless night, the jungle around me started to fully awaken, the temperature stayed perfect, the mosquitoes took pity and didn't eat me (or maybe the bats realised I'm live bait and kept them off). It was absolutely glorious. I stayed for nearly three hours, and could have slept there, if the planks would have been just ever so slightly softer. As it was, I had a great sleep on the (ok) air mattress in the tent, still surrounded by many of the forest's sounds. The provided sleeping bag (used as an additional blanket) was necessary to keep me warm enough (end of February), the pillows were comfortable. All in all very happy to have been there. I just wish the people took better care of the surroundings and repaired the platform. One night was enough for me, but if you go to Calakmul (I didn't), 2 seems better.

Clean, comfortable and with a fantastic host, Antonio. Highly recommend his guided walk around the area. Great forest camping destination, and surprising amounts of wildlife around. Perfectly located for visiting impressive yet peaceful ruins nearby.
