★ ★ ★ ★ ★ REALLY pretty facility but not worth the price at all. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived s bit early and they told us to return in 2 hours. When we came back... they had to check if it was ready.
Echoing other comments, this facility is much better suited as adults-only. We tried to relax poolside but there were young kids in the pool for HOURS, with many toys sprawled around.
The room: super small and dimly lit, but clean. Can see the hallway through the room window (and people in the hallway can see in) unless you keep the curtain carefully shut! Some rooms had art work on the walls, but ours did not have any art. So much for “Arthotel.”
The service: understaffed. Typically one person running the reception, opening the gate for people coming in/out, *and* supplying coffee/tea.
The amenities: sorely lacking. 1) The advertised amenities (bikes, SUPs, etc) are not included in room rates. This is fine... but the rental rates are absurdly high. We were quoted $600 pesos an hour to rent the bikes. There were only 2 bikes at the hotel. The bikes did not have any gears or adjustable seats, and the hotel did not have a seat adjustment tool (or even bike locks). One bike’s chain was out-of-place. We were then spontaneously given a discount (600 pesos for a day instead of an hour), and rented the bikes - but the other bike’s chain came out-of-place 10 mins into the ride. The bike seats were horrendously uncomfortable and the bikes themselves were poorly maintained. We stopped at a bike shop on the way to Ajijic where they adjusted the seat for us in 10 seconds.
The pool bar is usually unstaffed. There is a sign for “happy hour.” I inquired and they said happy hour was... only one day a week (Saturday’s). Kind of defeats the point of a happy hour... I tried to order a drink anyways: they did not have anything. Mojito, pina colada... nada. I asked what they had and they gave me one option. (It tasted good but still...)
Wifi connection not so strong on the facilities either (close to the building is good, close to the pool bar is weak).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enjoyed my stay there .
Rooms with lake view are the best of course .
There are some things that should be improved , like their own restaurant and included breakfast , but as I heard soon it will be done + but the bar is working . They have parking and offer bicycles and kayaks for free to their guests . In my room everything was working, no complains about that .
It is not pet friendly .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m not sure who writes these comments but it’s false. When we arrived to the hotel there was rotten fruit in its “parking lot” which was a land of grass. The pool was completely green- and it had a smell. Once we arrived we left, we didn’t even stay. And now the hotel won’t approve a refund- when I called and asked to speak to a manager I was hung up on and when I called back again no one answer. Hopefully a manager reads this and replies- I want a refund. This is false advertising your hotel looks NOTHING like these images. How disgusting. People save your money and go somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ended up not staying here but came to have breakfast. We both got DHRA that has lasted for three days. Would NOT recommend the food!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a unique experience, to appreciate the art and broad view of the lake. The decor refers to its origins as a 1920s favorite of writers and artists, however the plumbing is contemporary. Staff is accommodating, grounds are lovely.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice intimate hotel that has a beautiful view. The pool can use some more cleaning but I am basing my review soley on my personal experience and what I was looking for at the moment. Great location and parking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Little slice of heaven. This is a lovely, very well maintained and ideally located hotel. The entire staff is very kind and accommodating and the food and drinks here were the best we tried in the area. They have kayaks and bikes you can borrow. And the water pressure was excellent with plenty of hot water
