Although this is a lovely place, we had a terrible experience. I had $1,000 stolen and am not convinced that it wasn’t an inside job. Despite numerous messages to the owners about the matter, I received not one response! My son’s room was upstairs and he also had money stolen from his backpack. If it wasn’t an inside job, the house was not properly secured and access was gained through an unlocked door to an outside shower. This happened the day of our arrival and the outside shower had not been used. The door should have been locked upon our arrival. Thee theft occurred while we were in the house!

I am obsessed with Villa Amara! I was in Tulum celebrating my 30th birthday and I am so ecstatically happy that we came across this Villa. It is everything! The house was amazing, the pool was great and the right temperature, plus you're right on the beach! Every room faces the beach, every bed faces the beach, so you can wake up to the amazing water views. We were there for a week and everyday there was a cleaning service. Bere and her husband West take care of the property and are there to take care of anything you need. She also cooks, and believe me when I say, her cooking is better than a lot of the food I had at restaurants. (trust me, I eat out a lot) I am so grateful to have found this Villa. Great for family, groups or even just a romantic and private weekend away. I will definitely be back.

Villa Amara is a true luxury property that combines a stunning house with exceptional service. The house itself is even more beautiful than the photos. It’s very well designed for comfortable living and relaxing. The living room opens up on both sides, Creating an open air living room with amazing breeze and views. We loved having our meals in the outdoors dining room with the breeze from the ocean coming in to cool us down. All the five bedrooms are beautiful, but the two masters bedrooms are truly exceptional. The outdoor showers and freestanding bathtubs are a beautiful touch. What really sets villa Amara apart is the amazing staff. Julieta, the House Manager, it’s absolutely wonderful. She answered every question and text within minutes and helped us w Restaurant reservations and massages as well as other advice. The Caretakers at the Villa are the sweetest people ever. I highly recommend having them cook for you a few nights. The food was very well prepared and delicious and the staff accommodated all of our dietary needs. They were also able to take care of our children for a couple of nights when we went out to restaurants. In addition, they arranged a wonderful birthday party for my son while we were at the Villa. We had a magical stay and hope to return soon.

The House is beautiful. But the overall experience was a nightmare. We booked for 5 days. 3 of the days had no power and no water. We had to grab buckets with water from the pool to go to the bathroom. Of course no one did anything about it. We had paid already for the house. Told us that was a government issue and they had nothing to do with it although when we had no power the house next door did because they have a generator ( If they have a generator is because this happens often and this house is not prepared for its guests) Horrible service from the company that rented the house to us Evoke. We ended up paying $10,000 for our 5 day stay and clearly did not meet our expectations. No power no water for 3 days (of course we did not get any reimbursement ) they had one set of towels for the pool so while they were in the washer we had no towels for the pool. The towels in the bathrooms had stains and holes (not towels from a “luxury home” as they claim it is) kitchen is not equipped the Chef could not plate the food properly 2 refrigerators in the kitchen that not cool at all and the freezer was out of order. Over all I do not recommend this house at all horrible experience. I could go on for days. 1/2 a star for this “Luxury House”
