★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far one of the best places we have ever stayed. The service was excellent as well as the whole atmosphere and environment of the property. Very quiet and relaxing. Views are incredible and the pictures on here do not capture it well. We celebrated a birthday and I planned an engagement and everything was executed flawlessly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wonderful spot. Beautifully designed.
Don't book garden suit - it's right behind reception and quite loud.
It's not connected to anything else... So great for seclusion, but also means you can't go for a walk or check out the village without driving.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's so hard to properly review this incredible place because anything less than 5 stars would be a lie yet it wasn't perfect. I wish I could give it a 9 out of 10.
We came from the hustle of Mexico City and wanted nothing more than to simply BE for a few days in that respect Villa Lala was all we wanted and then some. The room was comfortable and luxurious. The staff treated us like family. Or actually better than family. We merely had to think it and we had it. The grounds lived up to the boutique name. There's not really a beach or anything but that's just fine as there is a boat dock with kayaks and both a pool and a swimming hole. There were so many places to relax we circled through them and loved it all.
If you want to enjoy the city this isn't the spot for you as it's SO far outside of town. But if you want a place to retreat to for a few days this is a perfect spot.
Literally the only downside is the food. What's odd is the best meals were the included breakfasts which were phenomenal. The lunches were fine. Not amazing but fine. Dinner was... Not great. We'd recommend trying the places around the hotel (Le Klif was incredible) or maybe renting a car and driving back into town (the cab rides were between 15 and 20 bucks to and from town and probably an hour with the regular awful traffic). But for a few days away from the world we couldn't have picked a better spot!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Villa Lala is truly a magical place and we understood that right when we arrived. Our suite was built around a giant fig tree and we felt enveloped, fully submerged in nature. The glass walls and windows that open all the way are amazing as there is so much light in the room. We cannot wait for our next visit at Villa Lala :)
