Viva Idioma, Spanish School - 77720 Playa del Carmen

I've had a great experience with the Viva Idioma Spanish Language School. My teacher, Annabella has really helped me to improve my Spanish! I started classes with her on zoom before I got to Mexico and loved having the ability to take lessons online as well as in person. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to learn or sharpen their Spanish skills.

Annabella is a fantastic teacher- she makes learning Spanish so much fun! And the new Viva Idioma campus is lovely!!

I can 100% recommend the language school with 5 out of 5 stars. For me, Viva Idioma stands for very good value for money, very professional and friendly teachers as well as great service and communication. My Spanish language teacher Neptali is outstanding!!! His Spanish is very clear and easy to understand, he is very friendly and patient and very good at explaining grammar. The lessons are never boring and very varied. It's just fun to learn the Spanish language, especially in Mexico - Playa del Carmen.

Annabella is the best! But, indeed, all the teachers are the best and certified. Get your private class or group and make friends with the students and teachers. Worth it! P.s. From knowing nothing in Spanish, I can now understand all the conversations and respond very well, especially with locals.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience studying with Neptalí for 4 weeks at Viva Idioma in Playa del Carmen. Neptalí is a brilliant teacher who carefully designed all the classes to our level, and he challenged us to advance as much as possible. We are very grateful for how much we learned, how much our Spanish improved, and how much fun we had. Playa del Carmen is a great home for the school. It's a fun, interesting, friendly and safe city filled with people who are eager to speak with us and help us improve. We loved that our Spanish lessons continued through each day as we met so many people while exploring this beautiful place. The school itself is in a very nice residential area, and we very much enjoyed the walk there every morning. I hope we can come back soon!

Viva Idioma is a great language school. I had 12 days of one on one training with Isaura and she really knows how to make learning fun while having a genuinely structured approach. We had a great time and after having learnt Spanish with Babbel for about a year she helped me gain enough confidence for conversations. The school is located about 2 km away from the touristic centre of Playa del Carmen. The school itself has decent class rooms and equipment and as far as I can tell all other students I talked to were very satisfied with their teachers. The school is run by Levin, a Swiss guy that - compared to the other schools I contacted beforehand - went the extra mile. He is responsive and reliable, helped me with my choice of class and tutoring (and even suggested I take less hours per day which meant less money), locations and also set me up with a bicycle to get to class. All in all a great experience, which I can wholeheartedly recommend.

What a great little school. Small classes, relaxed atmosphere. I studied with Lulu for two weeks in March 2022, and enjoyed every moment. (The second week wasn't planned, but I was enjoying it so much...!). The pace was dictated by the students comprehension and not by a timetable. As someone in their early 60's and learning for fun, this was perfect for me. Lulu also knew how to deliver her lessons in a way that was not only stimulating but in a fashion that was easy to interpret. Set in a nice little courtyard the school was in a quiet neighbourhood. Finding the place was not so straight forward as you are only told the street and block. At the time, there was no name on the gates or building number, so ask for a picture of the outside before you go. Ditto for the accommodation. The school can also arrange accommodation for you. This was the only thing that wasn't as expected. I had requested staying with a host family, but the accommodation was more like a hostel. Though Silvia the host was amazing and prepared fabulous meals and ran a very clean and tidy place, it was just her hosting four to six guests all being European students. As a result, the conversation around the meal table was predominantly English or German. As someone that needed to practice my Spanish listening and talking skills, it wasn't the intimate family immersion I had expected. Again, Silvia was amazing and would converse with you in Spanish, but I was under the impression it would be just me and a Mexican "family". I very much enjoyed my stay there, it just wasn't what I was expecting. Silvia also has two bicycles that you can use to cycle to the school which was a lot of fun. I would definitely recommend Viva Idioma. Having heard feedback from students at other schools, I felt like I had made a great choice and plan on returning to the school before long. I also felt that both the school and accommodation were great value for your peso/dollar/euro.... Congratulations Levin. The teachers speak highly of you and I wish you the success you deserve.

I just spent 10 days at this school and had such a great experience. Annabella is absolutely wonderful. She is super efficient, interesting and makes studying easy and enjoyable. The courses are well structured and it allowed me to learn so much in such a short time. The school is also very pretty and classroom comfortable. Thank you so much!
