★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't let the Wyndham name made you think big and impersonal. Lovely small hotel with a remodeled front lobby with a gorgeous antique stained glass window. Food is great in a cozy, romantic restaurant. Hotel is quiet and relaxing. And the staff is attentive and helpful.
Old colonial houses and huge old trees shade the street. I recommend it to friends.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pool was green and yelping dog from nearby property was annoying. Room had no view by window or front door. Construction noises could be heard from at times.
Staff was very helpful and polite. Service and food was good. Prices were very good and parking for rental car available at no charge.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This hotel is very far from colonial downtown (we did the walk. Took us over an hour). Room was very small for our family (2 kids, my wife and I). And no small fridge inside the room (if you have kids, you need a mini fridge to keep some milk, water and snack).
We thought this hotel is expensive for what you get. But it was a cute hotel and people working there are extremely nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Attended a course and rented the meeting room and also stayed there. Although I suffered some service issues at breakfast, service in general was very attentive. Rooms not as clean as before and seem outdated. Meeting room was ok but maybe need to use larger tables because 3 people cannot sit comfortably at each meeting table. Coffee service was ok. Some of the sodas exceeded the recommended consumption date. But the coffee and snacks were fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just checked in and wife went to shower and no hot water. Attendant arrived and suggested she turned handle wrong way... she didn't, but to appease him turned it the way he suggested. Even colder. No fridge. No iron. No hairdryer. Granted it's super cheap at about $70/night BUT it is a Wyndham...or used to be. Attendant hasnt returned but they called and will change rooms.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is like an old mansion that was remodeled and is now independent from Wyndham chain of hotels. It The service is good and rooms are comfortable. Due to Covid they do not clean your room until during your stay. They have a medium size swimming pool at the courtyard, and for breakfast they also have a small restaurant bar with a Starbucks ✈️?? If you plan to go on an expedition and want to have breakfast there make sure to let them know the night before. They open kitchen at 7 a.m.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The hotel is incredibly ornate and luxurious in the classical style, the original house has been conserved. The stained glass is original Tiffany, two gorgeous grandfather clocks in the library. An herb garden overlooks the pool. Be sure to check out the library and garden. There are 2 restaurants and limited Starbucks service. Breakfast is excellent and plentiful.
Also there is an elevator. So far the negative reviews on here make me think ppl are writing about the wrong hotel. This place is really clean and in general excellent.
The suite has a granite kitchen with a full size stainless steel fridge, so the guy who wrote the previous review didn’t get the right room if that’s what he wanted. Balcony doors open by pushing down the button. The rooms have large bathtubs with jet. The tvs are large and built in, plenty of shelving for luggage and to put your clothing away. I can only imagine that by updated people mean modern aesthetic. Btw the “c” is for caliente meaning hot in the shower so that guy might have turned the knob the wrong way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Location is okay, for this part of town. You can tell it is a little outdated, as per the whole neighborhood, and is about a mile walk to get to the historico centro. Take a tour- it's easy to get lost in the surrounding neighborhoods, and they are a bit shifty in parts. No amenities- fridge, hair dryer, ice machine (at least they didn't charge for it,) or view of anything except the porch and the side of the building next door, and cable TV goes out during storms. Terrible views if you are unfortunate enough to get a room on the wrong side of the building. I expected more with a "balcony room" but that door did not open, so the balcony is the walkway between rooms. Pool is nice, staff is friendly, Starbucks on site.
