Alux Restaurant Bar and Lounge - 77710 Playa del Carmen

This place is absolutely magical for a special occasion. The food, cocktails and wine were all delicious and the ambiance can’t be beat. It is pricey but worth it for a special occasion and they brought out a beautiful mini birthday cake for me at the end :) We had the grilled oysters, octopus, pork belly, salmon, and cheesecake for dessert and everything was next level delicious

Super cute natural cave restaurant! Very unique experience. Get seated they tell you about the experience. Pretty much start with a drink order. Get your drinks and place your food order. While your waiting for your food they encourage you to walk around the cave and by the time you get back your food is practically ready. More fine dining qualities here. There isn’t a price list or menu yet for the cocktails and wine. Just tell them what you want or what you like and they will see what they can make you, I had a nice experience all around. For the wine they took us to the wine cellar and we spoke with the server and the somm and I recommend being very direct with how much you want to spend on a bottle and what qualities your looking for. I asked for an 80 dollar bottle price range and got an excellent suggestion. The mark up on it was very fair in my opinion. For four people we ordered like two appetizers and three entrees to share for all of us, a round of cocktails for the walk, and a bottle of wine for the meal. With tip prob ended up spending closer to 400 US dollars. Thought it was really good overall!

A very cool place with some good food, small portions here and tourist prices. Expensive it is but no complaints on the quality of food or service. Wine here was super expensive but it was a very good bottle. Music wasn't a favorite and we were right next to a speaker but it's ok. Walk around the place after diner and lots of little areas. Would say great for a one off diner in a cave, may be back once in a while but have other restaurants that I like better. 4 stars only because of the higher prices.

Everyone needs to visit this cave restaurant at least once in their life! We had a great dinner here nearly a decade ago, and it is so nice to drop by again and see all the incredible improvements made on an already amazing place! Five stars for everything: service, meals, wine selection, and atmosphere! Some may say it’s a bit expensive, but, come on, you’re paying for the whole experience.

Fantastic dining experience. Service was excellent and food was delicious (I'm not a foodie but their fish and deer meat dishes blew my mind). We ordered their catch of the day, tuna in cocoa coating, deer meat (can't remember the dish name) and a non alcoholic cocktail, and it was plenty of food for the two of us. The bill turned out to be about $120 without tips. If you're celebrating a birthday, they bring a complementary piece of birthday cake and sing Happy Birthday :) You can get a more private table but will probably need to call them for it (I reserved a table online). It's really hot inside unless they seat you next to an AC so dress lightly! Once you're done eating, go explore the caves - they are very pretty.

This was our fist time fine dining in Playa del Carmen. The experience was great, they had Free parking. The reservation process went smooth. They have us a great table and the service and food was good. The portion sizes are a bit too small. But other than that we had a great time. The whole place is located in a cenote / cave. Everything was clean and sanitized. Prices are just right for a fine dining experience.

One of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. Partly due to the fact that the venue was a surprise so we did not know we would be dining underground, and one would never expect that there were caverns based on the street-front of the restaurant. Food was very good, drink selection and presentation was amazing, and service was outstanding. High prices, but well worth it for the full experience. Highly recommended!

This is a most for couples! The food is great and so much presentation goes into each dish and drink. We celebrated our friends 13 year anniversary and we all was blown away at the atmosphere and food. I thought the price was pretty good for the food and the environment just keeps you in awe. We made reservations just so that we would get a good seat, but there are places to be seated at all over and tucked into the deeper portions of the cave. Very beautiful!
