★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not use unless you're okay paying 50% more than what they tell you. They tacked on additional charges into the fine print of the rental contract and said I wouldn't have to pay them. Most of the contract is in Spanish and difficult to read. They run a very dishonest business.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I prepaid $116 for 5 days for a economy car at the Avis Cozumel Airport in May 2021. I retuned the car one hour before I had to and was told by the lot attendant that everything was fine and I was good to go. When I checked my credit card that they used as a security deposit they charged an additional $67. Avis had no explanation for the charge but did nothing to resolve it. My credit card company is now working to dispute the charges. I would expect this from a small time rental company, but not Avis. Beware !

Special shout out to Victor who went the extra mile to help us in a pinch.
Need renting from CZM Avis location for 30 years and never had a problem. Twice I went elsewhere for a cheap price and regretted it. Dollar tried to claim we had under carriage damage that wasn’t there and tried to hold us for cash. Alamo does not honor the reservations- they won’t have the car you reserved, or they jack up the price. Don’t make the same mistake. Avis is convenient, and fair priced. And they won’t scam you. This trip we had a LOT of bags and they saw it, knew the car may not fit them all, and offered to send someone to follow us with whatever wouldn’t fit.
I can’t say enough about the team. Trust me, 30 years and probably 100 rentals and we have never had an issue.
