Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Hotel - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Just got back from 4 nights at Blue Diamond and already planning our next trip! This place is fantastic. We loved having all of the resort amenities while still feeling surrounded by nature. Our palafito suite was close to the beach and restaurants while still giving us privacy. The crocodile swimming in the lagoon off our balcony was an added bonus. The staff is amazing. Each and every staff member was pleasant and helpful. On top of all of this, the food is wonderful. I have heard stories of bad resort food, but not here. Both of the main restaurants had excellent made-to-order food, and the ceviche bar was always great. The resort seemed to be in great shape and we had none of the issues that I have seen in other reviews, other than the hot water took a couple of minutes to warm up (not a big deal at all). 100% will recommend Blue Diamond to friends and family and I cannot wait to go back.

I went for a solo birthday trip and could not have had a better experience. The hotel is beautiful and tucked into the jungle between the main highway and the beach. All day you could hear birds and see other wildlife scurrying around. The peaceful setting made for a very relaxing stay. The staff were so warm and friendly and remembered my name and which room I was in. The food was incredible. And the beachfront was a perfect mix of sun and shade. I was able to register for a swim in the property's cenote on my last full day, and that was such a wonderful experience. I especially appreciated the Mayan ritual ceremony performed before we entered the water. I was in a junior patio suite, and loved the space and took time to just relax there away from other people a few times - truly just surrounded by nature. I even sat and watched coatis and crocodiles a few times. I had some strange things happening with my air conditioning on my last day that I was able to figure out on my own, but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and didn't want to leave.

My husband and I booked Blue Diamond for our Honeymoon. We were on the hunt for a small and quiet resort where we could relax on the beach for a week! Blue Diamond definitely provided. This is not a resort where you will see people doing tequila shots on the bar, but rather geared more towards couples who are looking for quiet alone time. The relaxing and small environment was a plus, as there was never a wait to be seated for meals, lawn chairs at the pool and beach were plentiful, and nights were quiet and peaceful. There is also plenty of wildlife to be seen, which was really cool! We are rating them 4 stars because there were a few things we would have expected to be different with a resort that boasts all-inclusive luxury. The resort gave off the vibe that things hadn't been kept up very well. Rust on the walkways, missing railings/guard rails, and lifted or rotting wood pieces on the walking path. The A/C in our room did not work great at all. We could never get our room to be lower than 75 degrees, which was not ideal. The 3rd night we were there, the A/C vent in the closet started dripping, soaking some of my clothes (Luckily they provided laundry service for free, usually there is a charge for laundry) The tile in the bathroom was missing grout and had lime/filth build up in the corners of the shower and sink areas. Our toilet was also very slow to flush. Overall, not deal breakers, but just things that could be given more attention to. Any kind of service to our room was relatively slow, especially calling for a golf cart ride. Expect to wait, or just walk yourself if you have dinner or spa reservations. We were also excited about using the soaker tub in our room, but in order to get it filled there was a $150 fee and it was considered a spa treatment. So, we never ended up using it! :( The website also states there is a second rooftop bar and cigar lounge, but the workers said they were still closed due to Covid. Overall, we had a good experience, but there were just a few things we were expecting to be different.

Mexican all inclusive done right! Headed to Blue diamond for a couples trip and have to say it was well worth it. Staff is professional, rooms are incredibly clean and comfortable. Food each night was delicious and the drinks were great. Highly recommended

It is regrettable to have to leave a negative review as this hotel seems to have great potential. However, we stayed here for a week and never got hot water in our room. We brought it to the attention to the staff every day, and they were never able to fix it or give us another room. Or make any amends what so ever… how is this a 4 Diamond resort!? Today is our last day and we had a shower at the spa, because we were so desperate to warm up and clean up! Overall, the resort is beautiful and smaller which means it’s not too crowded. The room is beautiful as well. The food is Mediocre and only a few options if any for vegetarians or vegans. Room service was average- they didn’t replace some of the things in the room, only replaced the towels. Service overall was hit or miss. Some really great employees and others forgetting things all the time. Also, we made a reservation for dinner and they didn’t have a table for us. What’s the point of having a reservation then? I’ve stay at other 4 Diamond hotels and I’m totally baffled at how this one qualifies. For the price, I would expect much better.

Booked a last minute trip and was blown away by this resort!! From the moment we arrived, the staff was so welcoming and helpful. Everything is spread out so be prepared for some morning walks to the pool/breakfast area, but there are bikes around the resort that are free to use as well as staff offering rides on golf carts. The restaurants were great, pool beautiful, and in my opinion every review about the lack of the beach is dramatic. There's staff constantly cleaning the seaweed and there's still chairs down on the beach. If you'd like to swim in the water just walk down to the left a bit and it's fair game. The plunge pool in the rooms were a great idea, but I didn't use it at all because you have to pay to have it filled (which I expected going in because of previous reviews). What I didn't realize is that you can only have the tub filled IF you get a spa service (which I was sunburnt so I didn't want), I wish I could've paid to just have the tub filled without getting a massage. This little quirk didn't put a damper on our experience whatsoever, though. The resort is smaller so you recognize other guests from day to day. For example, I left my book at the pool one day and a couple that was sitting near us (never spoke to them) realized I left it, brought it to the bar, and the next day they found us and told us my book was there! I was so happy they even remembered what we looked like. The staff also remembers your name from the moment you check in which is nice. Miguel at the pool/bar is fantastic and Leonardo and Hector helped me on my last day as the COVID testing center refused to help me get my results as I took my test the day before check out as instructed (I don't know why and either did Hector and Leonardo, but either way they rushed to help as I needed my results within an hour as I was checking out)! Can't wait to come back to this beautiful resort!!

Not one to ever post reviews about anything actually but I had high hopes for this resort and was very let down. Me and my now husband chose to go here for our honeymoon and the first day we were the AC was broken. We kept calling and asking to switch rooms but the entire resort had no AC. They kept telling us it would be fixed at a certain time and then that time would come and still no AC. We spent 2 nights there in 80 degree weather in our room. Finally the AC was fixed and it still never got below 75 degrees. Another issue we had was with the golf carts. When we checked in they told us to call when we needed a ride down to the beach. We would call and then we would wait and no one would ever come. So most of the time we would have to walk the .7 mile walk just to get to the pool or the restaurant. It was frustrating. We also were super excited about the included activities like snorkeling however our reservation was cancelled because of “weather” when the weather was beautiful all day. Other couples we talked to at the resort said their reservation for snorkeling was also cancelled for other reasons. So it just seemed sketchy to us. The resort itself is beautiful, the pool was very nice and the food was good, service at the restaurant was great but for the money we paid and the fact that it’s “a 5 star hotel” we were shocked. Very upsetting to have this be our memory of our honeymoon. I do think the resort may have been in between management, but everything just seemed very sketchy and it was just excuse after excuse. I would not recommend.

We went for a quick getaway last week and had a wonderful time! Although the resort could use a little refresh, the service and top notch food more than made up for it. I’ll note that we had absolutely no issues with the hot water or AC. Everything worked perfectly. All of our meals were delicious, we especially loved dinners at Ambar. Highly recommend utilizing the spa facilities, especially the steam room. I got a deep tissue massage from Laura which was excellent! Thank you to all of the staff, especially the servers and the cart drivers!
