★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is the real deal. The Tacos Castacan is possibly the best taco I’ve ever eaten. Recommended to me by a local food guide, this is a must visit. Also I was short on cash and they trusted me to come back later and pay. Nice people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We all got sick. For starters, the pork meat had sooo much salt. 2nd. My throat is scratchy and we feel like throwing up. 3rd is the TERRIBLE ATTITUDE they have when we bought it and worse whe we complained. They could care less about their clients. There is a very scary life size pig standing up in front of the place and that alone will scare the heck out of anyone.
Until they can prove their meat is fresh.. I won't recommend to anyone.. not even dog food!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome local, hole in the wall restaurant. Was taken here on a food tour and loved the different selections of pork you could choose from for you tacos. You really can’t beat the prices, and these were the real, authentic Mexican street tacos we were looking for.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Incredible pork (carnitas) tacos in all its varieties - maciza, surtida, cabeza, morcilla, castacan, etc. Locals visit this unassuming joint for lunch and buy meat by the kilo. The place is modest and sits about 25 people. Get the maciza for the most classic carnitas taco you can think of and castacan for a bit of crunch. 18 pesos ($1) per taco, and about 4 do the trick for a lunch that won't leave you hungry.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Second time we've eaten here this year cing back to Playa. I have been talking about the castacan since I had it in September. Am a little bit obsessed with it. Don't understand why others don't make this completely indulgent concoction. This time it was a little oilier than the first time but omg just delicious! My only advice is get the 1/4 kilo. It's plenty for 2. The picture shown is a half kilo and we couldn't finish though we were both starving! #shruglife
