Casa Altamar - 77781 Tulum

We spent 15 days at Casa Altamar and enjoyed every minute of it. Everything was incredible: the staff led by Arturo, the minimalistic design, the food, the drinks, the rooms, the sunrises and sunsets on the beach, the kayaking, and the central location next to many important sites such as Chichen Itza, Coba, Tulum town and ruins, the Sian Kaʼan Biosphere, and cenotes. What a beautiful place. I have spent 5 super relaxing days in a gorgeous room with the most beautiful view. The staff is excellent, the food too! If you are looking for a relaxing time, in a beautiful setting with professional, friendly staff, I highly recommend Casa Altamar. My wife and I had an incredible time.

Have eaten at the restaurant several times and can safely say it's the best food in the area. Altamar gets major points for the creativity and imagination. For the money you can't beat the quality of food and the service. Highly recommend the Tostadas de Atun and if you are lucky enough to come on Pizza day it rivals some of my favorite pizza in Brooklyn. They have a nice selection of artisanal beers if you fancy una chelita. I love their margarita with hibiscus tea. The churro is nice way to finish the meal without being too filling. Look forward to trying other items on the menu!

My sister and I came to rest, relax and enjoy some time together. This was the best vacation! Upon arriving, we were greeted by Arturo and were offered a wonderful drink called a "Welcome Dream"...and it was heavenly! The food was excellent and the service for our entire stay was amazing. The staff helped arrange taxis, sightseeing ideas and restaurants in Tulum itself. We were also told proper taxi fares so we were not "taken advantage of" The on-site masseuse was amazing too and my massage by the ocean was such a fantastic experience, I wish I could have one again! The room was comfortable and faced the ocean so we saw the sunrise every morning. The beach was small and quiet and there are beach shoes provided for the rocky shore. We did our yoga every morning to the sunrise and it was so relaxing!! Again, the service was excellent...we needed to have a COVID test performed 24hrs before getting on the plane to return and our tests that we brought had issues. Arturo arranged to have someone come to Casa Altamar to perform the tests at a very reasonable price $45, the results were quick and easy. The peace of mind was well worth the cost since in town, the price was 2x what we paid. The entire team( everyone we met): Arturo, David, Pedro, Shalia, Sugeily, Javier, Mitchell and Otto were EXCELLENT. Thank you so much for an excellent time!!!! I hope I can return soon!!!

I am torn to only do 4 stars because the property is beautiful, the staff is terrific and the food is absolutely delicious. However, there’s not a fridge in the room which bothers me because everything shuts down at 10 so if you have left overs or want cold water you are out of luck. There’s no front desk which I thought was odd but they were waiting for us and the service made that oddness go away. It’s a small hotel and the great service outweighs a few things but a fridge and phone in the room are a must for me. The place is lovely tho!

Only came for the restuarant so will only speak to that, though overall the hotel looks beautiful! Location docked a little just because it is a bit off the beaten path Service was good, food was WAY better. Oh man, the best meal we had in Tulum in quality, taste, and presentation all top notch! Definitely fine dining but not SUPER expensive Unfortunately they ran out of lobster that night :( Drinks were also great and tasted strong!

Casa Altamar is a true oasis just a short drive from the liveliness of Tulum. Ocean views and calming waves lull you to sleep each night with all the simple amenities for a comfortable stay. The staff and service were the cherry on top. Arturo, Javier and all of the staff are so attentive and detail oriented. You feel so welcome and comfortable. Food is fresh and made with love. Sad to leave.. but I know where I’ll come when I visit again. Thank you for the beautiful experience! ❤️

The reviews seemed too good to be true : it was even better! People are talking about the food and drinks - but to have been around the world and eaten at some of the best restaurants, this beats them all, hands down. The food could have easily been double the price given how delicious it was. And the drinks are so original and unique, better than anything in downtown Tulum. The place is clean and smells really good, the beach is rocky but they lend you shoes and snorkeling gear to go to the sandy side and to top it, you can paddle board or kayak for free. Service is exceptional. We left our all inclusive hotel for a couple of nights and this stay was beyond what we expected.
