Casa Hidalgo - 62000 Cuernavaca
Una vez caída la gran Tenochtitlan, Hernán Cortés inicia en Cuernavaca la construcción de un palacio destinado a resguardar los tributos que anteriormente recolectaban los aztecas. La edificación del palacio avanzó rápidamente 1521 aprox. hasta quedar definitivamente terminada en 1535.
Nadie parece recordar que el Palacio de Cortés, la obra de arquitectura civil más antigua de México , fué levantado sobre los restos de un templo Tlahuica. Dos siglos más tarde se utilizó como cárcel, y José María Morelos estuvo preso en una de sus habitaciones en noviembre de 1815. Después, hacia finales del siglo XIX, fue sede del gobierno estatal, función que conservó hasta 1969.

Tables are set apart and waiters collaborate if you ask, for example, that they don’t come back to the table unless you indicate to do so. View is spectacular... we sat on the terrace facing Hernán Cortés Castle. We tried different Mexican food - I recommend the Tortilla Soup! There are other options less traditional. They also have artesanal beers from Morelos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The place is right across from Palacio de Cortes. Food was good. Service was really slow. Took over 30 minutes from the time we ordered our meals, until we received them - the restaurant wasn't busy - perhaps issues at the kitchen? Our server was great. We would give it another shot.
