We did not stay at Casa Malca, but we did buy beach club passes. They were the most expensive of the beach clubs that we went to at $150 usd per person to be spent towards food/beverage. We were immediately shown to a lounger on the beach and given towels. Our waiter was very attentive through the day and the cocktails and food were delicious! It is a beautiful location and hotel but we were not permitted to walk around and see any other areas with the beach pass which was disappointing. It is also important to note that you cannot order food on the beach/pool after 6pm and if you have money left on your tab, they only allow you to use it in 1 of their restaurants. Overall, it was great, just lacking in communication!

Perfect stay! Casa Malca is expensive, but in return you get only the best. The stuff was incredibly friendly and helpful! The location is beautiful and located on a great beach in a quiet area a little further away from the busy and loud hotel zone. I can only recommend it, we had a great time there :-)

Have visited Casa Malca with my husband last month as a part of our honeymoon. We were tempted by excellent reviews, the hotel's history, and of course, beautiful design and perfect beach. We both had VERY high expectations from this hotel giving the price per night, but boy oh boy, we were utterly disappointed. The hotel itself is beautiful and has some arty features, but it almost seems like there is nothing more to it. If you wanted to see the sunset from the rooftop, you'd be incredibly disappointed as massive air-con units obstruct the view, and the terrace is empty and tatty. Then the service... the weighers in the hotel will come up to you every 5 minutes to check if you want to order more drinks or food. If I am trying to relax on the beach, reading my book, and having already ordered everything I wanted, I do not wish to be interrupted 20 times an hour. I understand that they want you to spend more money, but staff should be trained accordingly in a luxury hotel like this. In addition, when it comes to payment, most of the waitors gave a speech about how the 15% service charge is split between all the restaurant staff, but if we would like to provide them with a separate tip, they will appreciate it. In normal circumstances, we would be glad to leave an extra tip if the service was good, but this process of them telling us that they want more separate tips for themselves is just ridiculous! Especially if you have spent 600 dollars on the meal followed by a 90 dollar service charge and still want more money from you, I find this very unprofessional and left a sour aftertaste after our breakfast. Overall the food was delicious, breakfast especially. But sadly, last night before we left, I have got the most horrendous food poisoning from the roast duck breast (do not order the duck pink if you don't want to spend the next day curled up in bed). Some people I know, who also ate at the Philosophy, complained of having a bad stomach afterwards. We did enjoy the concierge service as they have arranged a yoga class for me in the great morning. To sum up: if you would like to throw your money away you can stay in the hotel but if you would like to try some of the food, take loads of photos for your insta or enjoy the beds at the beach then just buy a day pass. There are way nicer and cheaper hotels to stay at in Tulum on the beach.

my boss had the worst attention in this place, he is staying at the nomade hotel and decided to go to see his friend, by paying his cover fee but since she was there he was told he didn't have to. Then he was approached by armed security. And they asked him to leave the place without being able to talk to the manager to have an explanation about the reason. He is a regular customer and never had any problems. But he would never come back to this if he can’t have an apology from the management.

Great place. A bit of a scene. 150$ to walk in with $110 in consumption per person. I safe and drank too much. Pool is cool could be cleaner. Beach is great. Good was good. Lil far. Nothing historical here just a hotel. Only knock is the women taking endless selfies all day.

Breakfast is very good!! Fresh and service is great!!! Beach chairs are very comfortable and again great service and food is wonderful!!! We took the garden room. It’s spacious but not our taste- the design is kind of depressing. Very dark. House keeping is is 1 star. We asked 3 times over two days for hand soap - used coffee cups left after cleaning, empty water bottles. Bed is not made neatly. For $1000 a night I would expect for a better service and attention!!!! Way Over priced!! Not Recomended!!!

Beautiful! Best day ever! Most amazing food and service, bit overpriced but worth it! Will dream of this place for a long time! If you're not a hotel guest, no access to that area. Paid for the day pass for the beach club, it was beautiful! Highly recommended! Fun fact: This was Pablo Escobar's house! Will return for sure ??

My friend and I came here and we absolutely loved it. The service is second to none. We had a lovely, professional and efficient waiter called Walter who made sure we had the best experience. We would have returned had our flight not been the next day. The beach is beautiful, the food is divine. You get little crudités in the style of the traditional cuisine, a staff member dedicated to giving your sunglasses a clean and cold, mint infused towels on arrival (all complimentary). Loved it.
