Roberta is an amazing cook. We were not staying at the hotel (our friends were) but she treated us like guests. Nice pool!

Loved my stay here - Roberta and Alex could not have been better hosts. Roberta’s Italian cooking is out of this world and made with such love. As a solo female traveller I felt very safe and the room was the perfect light/bright place to relax after a day out. I stayed in both a top floor room and ground floor - the top floor has significantly more natural light, but both decorated beautifully. It was a little hard to find (I had to look at photos of the building online and try and spot it), but this equally makes it quite secluded. If the streets are flooded then you need to walk along the beach to get there which can take a bit longer, but nothing to worry about.

The place is amazing! Just two meters from the beach. But the best was Alex and Roberta, the owners. They welcomed us and made us feel like home. We could enjoy a great dinner home made by Roberta and have nice conversation with her. A great thanks to the both of them for making our trip so nice

Roberta, her family and everyone working at Casa Vainilla was so sweet and welcoming. The room was really spacious and clean and the location is a 10 minute walk to city center and 3 minutes from a really nice beach that is not too crowded. Roberta is really happy to help with anything and you can always reach her. Robertas restaurant is really good and the view from the rooftop is breathtaking and has an amazing view at the sunset. We really recommend everyone to stay at Casa Vainilla when visiting Isla Holbox.

Sadly I didn't meet the owners as it was Christmas season. Without the family touch, if felt rather pricy for a decent stay. Yes, big rooms at a good quality, clean and spacious, but I just didn't feel that extraordinary feeling other guests must have had

We loved this hotel! We recommend this place for people who love good food -Roberta is an Italian Chef and makes the best fettucine/lasagna/tiramisu/coffee and also the breakfast is just amazing! She puts passion and love in her food, all the ingredients are fresh and pasta is homemade! Our room was super clean, spacious and colorful! Thank you for the great time!

I don’t even know where to start! I stayed at Casa Vainilla for 12 days on a solo vacation and it became like home to me. The hotel is situated very close to the beach. My room was large and spacious with AC, refrigerator, comfortable bed, desk space, two balconies and a hammock inside. My room was meticulously cleaned on a daily basis and had fresh sheets every few days, which was fantastic since I was staying for an extended period. Roberta and Alex are such kind, attentive people and made me feel so very much at home. Having breakfast and dinner cooked by Roberta was an extra special treat - I think her dishes may some of the best on the island, and I am missing her tiramisu already! Holbox is such a special place, but staying at Casa Vainilla was such a defining part of my experience. I’ll cherish the time I spent there and can’t wait to visit again!

Casa Vainilla was our home for 6 wonderful days on the beautiful island of Holbox. Roberta and Alejandro made us feel right at home with delicious homemade Italian food and inviting conversation. The accommodations are spacious, comfortable with everything you need, the room had a mini-fridge, a spacious closet, and a balcony with a great view. The windows have mosquito screens and a ceiling fan which kept us fresh throughout the night. Roberta cooks a variety of homemade pasta, bread, breakfast, desserts, and fruit juice. She has such imagination and love in her cooking and uses the best ingredients. We seriously can't wait to come back and visit the island and stay at Casa Vainilla any time were in Holbox.
